UL Rowing Club’s annual table quiz took place in the Pavilion last night - the event was a massive success, with more than 150 participants! Well done to our winning team (pictured on the first slide).

None of this would have been possible without such great support behind the scenes; we’re extremely grateful to everyone who helped to facilitate last night.

Irish Rowing Championships 2023 🇮🇪

A weekend that will go down in history for the University of Limerick Rowing Club, and one that our athletes will not forget. A total of nine Championship Titles were won this past weekend, an incredible achievement for all those involved 🏆

From the beginning of this season, the members of ULRC were hungry for success. This hunger drove each training session and shone throughout a successful 22/23 racing period. ULRC had fantastic representation at Champs with many second places after some hard fought racing 🏁

As well as gathering trophy’s and pots, a total of three course records were set over the three days of intense racing! These times were set by the Women’s Senior 8+, Women’s Senior 4x- and our Women’s Inter 4+. The Senior 4x- are the standout crew here, knocking a total of 30 seconds off the course record ⚡️

After a successful weekend in Cork, University of Limerick have jumped four places in the Championship Club Rankings. ULRC now sit in 15th place with a total of 38 Championships, an exceptional achievement from a small but determined club 🔝

To those graduating we wish you the very best in your next endeavour, but the door to the boat club will always be open. Thank you for sharing your experience and passion for the club and sport. Thank you also to our are hard working Committee and our Captain, Lauren O’Brien, who went above and beyond what was expected of her and her role 💚

Nothing would have been possible had we not been advised, guided and led by our coaching team. Clara O’Brien, Brian O’Shaughnessy, Ed Hartry, James Mangan and others. The club are grateful to each and everyone of those who have supported us over the year 🫡

After 20 years of dedication to the club, Brian O’Shaughnessy was made an honorary life member of University of Limerick Rowing Club - an incredible achievement that is so well deserved 🤝🏼

Over the next few days we will take a look into each Championship that was claimed and the ULRC athletes that were involved 📸

After a successful and busy season, the final prep is underway 🏁 UL is Rowing 💚

ULRC are delighted to announce our eight athletes that have been selected for the Home International Regatta 2023 ☘️

A record breaking year for UL as this is the highest number of Irish Jerseys the club have ever had in a season! Well done to all ULRC athletes that put their names forward to trial, including those that just fell short of selection after some tight racing. We are very proud of each athlete their commitment, and accomplishments over the year 💪🏼

This year Ireland will host the Homes Regatta, which will take place in Lough Rinn Co. Leitrim on Saturday the 22nd July 🇮🇪

Congratulations also to who will take on the role of Coach for the Senior Women’s Sweep Team🫡

With some fantastic racing and close finishes this weekend ULRC are excited to head into Champs this weekend! 💪🏼

ULRC are proud and delighted to announce that our very own Rory O’Neill has been selected to represent Ireland at the 2023 World Rowing Championships! ☘️

Rory and his doubles partner Ciaran Purdy from will race the Lightweight Men’s Double Sculls in Plovdiv, Bulgaria from July 19th - 23rd🇧🇬

As a dedicated and determined member of ULRC, Rory has worked hard and performed to the highest standard this year. ULRC are proud of Rory’s commitment to both the club and sport and wish him the best over the coming weeks! 💪🏼
