Solid performance from the u18s today, making it 2 from 2 in the league.
We had the perfect start when Conor Toomey opened the scoring early with a lovely strike from the edge of the box.
Quickly followed by a stroke of luck when a mix up at the back saw a Breska defender put the ball into his own net.
We kept up the pressure and Cha played a lovely crossfield pass, which Mike flicked back across goal with a superb first time touch, for Fitzy to power through and finish.
Breska replied when they were awarded a penalty for a mistimed challenge just inside the area. Andrew with a great save from the penaly, but we weren’t quick enough on the rebound and Breska found the net.
A more even contest in the next period saw both sides creating chances, with Noah, Donal, Heno and Niall solid at the back, and Andrew in good form when called upon.
We started the second half on the back foot and Andrew was again needed to maintain our two goal advantage.
We were countering well and on the hour mark Mike with another assist, a 40 yard diagonal put Charlie through and he tucked away the rebound after a good save by the Breska keeper.
Breska continued to battle and got their second with 15 to go.
With 5 minutes left on the clock Mike got the goal his performance deserved after an afternoon of relentless work. Andrew found him on the wing with a long throw, Mike burst through and a neat finish with the outside of the boot as he evaded the scrambling defence.
Heno with the 6th from a well worked corner as Charlie flicked on at the front post, and Hugh evading his marker to volley home.
