CHAMPIONS OF IRELAND

Huge congratulations to our own Ava Flanagan and her dad Warren as the Limerick County U12 Girls team were crowned national champions this weekend!

The national final was held today at Evergreen FC in Kilkenny, with the Limerick girls taking on Cork.

A county season that started back in October...playing Waterford, Cork, Kerry, Galway, Midlands Blue, Kildare along the way. A team that just kept improving as the season progressed.

The Club is immensely proud of the achievement of Warren Flanagan as County Head Coach & his talented daughter Ava who played winger for the season on the victorious county side.

Congratulations to Warren, Ava and the entire team! The future is bright!💪⚽️💪

Superb battling performance from the Castle U14 girls team last night. Our panel of 12, including one U12 and 6 U13s, took on a hugely talented Herbertstown side awash with county players. Needless to say, we were expecting a tough evening of football.

What we got was a stunning display on the night. While the girls went down in the end to a 4-2 defeat, we held a 1-0 lead at halftime. A first ever goal for the club from Gracie Lee being the difference between the sides at the break.

Though Herbertstown equalised early in the second half, we went back in front 2-1 up thanks to a goal from Kate Ryan midway through the half.

A somewhat controversial equaliser followed by a really unfortunate own goal saw Herbertstown take the lead. Our opponents making it 4-2 late on thanks to a brilliant goal from their county striker. Herbertstown closed out the game well and it ended 4-2.

Huge congratulations to Castle keeper Amelia for another excellent display between the posts. Carla, Yada, Muireann & Charlotte stood strong against a talented Herbertstown attack on the night. Lily, Emma, Ornaith, Caoilin & Kate were super in the middle all evening. Gracie & Tilly tireless & providing great attacking options upfront.

A gallant, whole hearted effort from our U12 Boys on a dreary Friday evening in Bruff, saw them finish as runners up in this seasons Division 1 Cup.
Congratulations to the talented young team from Charleville Afc on their deserved victory on the night.
Thanks our boys for their superb efforts throughout the season, many heart stopping performances and not a bad ending at all to the season to take home their medals as runners up.

It’s gonna be a big evening for our U12 Boys this Friday in Bruff. They are competing with Charleville AFC for the U12 Boys Division 1 Cup!
