Wishing a speedy recovery to U16s player Warren Mullane who picked up a nasty off the field injury during the week. Still got himself out this morning to help the coaches during their session, fair play to the lad.

You'll be back in no time Warren.

Unlucky to the lads this evening conceding a cruel winner in the final minute after a performance that easily warranted a draw.

All at Ballynanty Rovers were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of club stalwart Gerard "Ginger" Cronin. He was recently inducted into the Limerick Junior Soccer of Hall of Fame and was described as a tough defender and an inspirational captain.

A fantastic player who had a hugely successful career in the blue jersey, Ginger won numerous trophies in his career and gave everything he had to Ballynanty Rovers. Of all the trophies he won, the season of 1982 was a remarkable one in particular winning the treble of League, Lawson Cup & Munster Junior Cup and lost in the replay of the FAI Junior Cup the following season. An absolute gentleman and a great footballing man he will be missed by all who knew him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his loving wife Mary, children Veronica, Conor, Paul and Louise, grandchildren Kara, Tadhg, Max, Lee-anne, Ryan and Alex, great grandchildren Tilly and Fiadh, daughter-in-law Jessica, sons-in-law Declan and Joe, sisters Elizabeth, Pauline and Mary, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Funeral arrangements are as follows:

Funeral will arrive Friday, September 4th, at St. John’s Cathedral, Cathedral Place, for Requiem Mass at 12pm. Funeral afterwards to Mount St. Oliver Cemetery.
