Our 15s were away to Aisling this evening and we came out 5-1 winners we were very slow to get going and went 1 down early but responded well and went 2-1 up before the break. We made few changes and worked well and played some great football we moved the ball with intensity and put the game beyond

Mungret Regional 3-3 Ballynanty Rovers

A tough one to take for our Junior A team this evening. Despite being 3-0 up, conceding 3 second half goals means we are out of contention of challenging for the league title on the final day of the season.

On the scoresheet for us this evening:
Shane Walsh ⚽️
Vinny Ryan ⚽️

Unlucky lads fantastic effort from all the squad and management all season and we will take the positives from it.

CHAMPIONS
U-14’s Division
Ashling Annacotty 2-2 Ballynanty Rovers

LEAGUE CHAMPIONS
WHAT A DAY, final league game of the season and top of the table clash knowing at least a draw would be enough and all 14 showed up and showed how much they wanted it they played there hearts out and ran themselves into the ground.
They started the game on the front foot as they have all season pressing from the front not letting Annacotty get into any rhythm and it paid off as the ball fell to Derek Quaid outside the box and he fired us into the lead and 1-0 up at half time.

Ashling got a corner 10 minutes into the second half and drew themselves level but the lads didn’t drop the heads they regroup and started putting the pressure on and from a lovely shot on edge of the box had the keeper beaten only to see an ashling player handle on the line and knock it away, penalty given. Up stepped Shay Moroney who buried it to put us 2-1 up and receive a big cheer from the big support who came to cheer them on. Ashling made multiple subs and had 5 up front nearing the end but the lads just didn’t stop running in that heat battling for everything and in the last minute Ashling did get there equaliser from another corner but that would be that game over and the lads are League Champions. What a league campaign it has been for them dropping only 7 points all season. Massive thanks to everyone who made the trip to Annacotty to cheer on the lads.
