Developing the future of the circus education sector is something we care a lot about. Recently we were proud to bring together some of Ireland’s lead practitioners in the community to develop a shared system of teaching methodologies for the aerial arts. The aim is to create standards which guide and inform our practice, training, and daily work teaching aerial in Ireland.

The session was facilitated by Galway Community Circus, hosted by the Irish Aerial Creation Centre and supported by the ISACS network.

Anyone involved in teaching aerial in Ireland is welcome to get involved, please get in touch.

Kids Aerial Classes! ✨

Our aerial classes for children are all about learning new ways to fly!
They are perfect for kids with no prior experience, allowing them to explore what it’s like to fly using various aerial equipment such as the cocoon, trapeze, hoop, silks, vertical dance, and free fly.
It’s a fun, safe environment where children can feel comfortable and ready to learn this aerial discipline.

Age group:

*SPARROWS: 4 - 7 years old

-Tuesday :15:30 - 16:30
-Wednesday: 15:45 - 16:45
-Thursday: 16:00 - 17:00
-Saturday: 9:30 - 10:30

*HAWKS 1 : 8 - 12 years

-Monday 18:00 - 19:15
-Tuesday: 17:00 - 18:15
-Thursday: 17:15 - 18:30
-Saturday: 10:45 - 12:00

Join vertical dance pioneer Amelia Rudolph and the IACC for an informal showing of work in progress.

Discover what unfolds when an international ensemble of performers brings their distinct talents, techniques, and perspectives together. This intimate showing offers a glimpse into the discoveries, surprises, and creative possibilities emerging from two weeks of cross-pollination and experimentation. The showing features two of Rudolph's long-time collaborators Rachael Lincoln and Cam Moreno along with Hannah Scully, Oran Leong, and Ash Ashton.

This residency was funded by the Arts Council's International Residency Initiative Scheme (IRIS) and Limerick City & County Council.

FAMILY CIRCUS 2026, 🤸‍♀️🎪✳️ 🥳💃🏻✨

We invite you on Saturday, October 10th at 16:00 - 18:00 hrs, to participate in our "Family Circus". Which children bring their parents, and their parents bring their children, to share and enjoy as a family the skills they can discover from the circus, whether AERIAL - HULA HOOPING - SPINNING PLATES - JUGGLING.

You will begin with a group activity/warm-up, followed by free play with a combination of different circus skills.

The space will be equipped with different devices such as hula hoops, balance toys, mats for basic acrobatic skills, aerial devices and other fun activities. The possibilities for play are endless as you are invited to explore the wonderful world of circus skills in a fun, creative and supportive environment working together as a family.

Please note that parents/caregivers/guardians are active participants in this class with their children.

Directors Lab 2026! ✨



As part of IACC’s funding from the Arts Council’s International Residency Initiatives Scheme (IRIS) we ran our first ever Director’s Lab in partnership with TOHU in Montreal.

Directors Chantal McCormick (Fidget Feet) and Anthony Venisse (Montréal) mentored

three new Irish directors of aerial circus. This has been a dream of Chantal to run this course, since opening the IACC!

It is inspired by a UK directors course ran by Circulation in UK in 2006/07 with mentorship by Rose English.

· Ali Stanger worked with Patricia Cowan on a rope solo & also on ideas & tools for creating an ensemble acrobatic piece.


· Chloe Pisco worked with Ash Ashton, Marcela Pridavkova and Mats Osterveld. Chloe has an incredible project inspired by her years of diving with whales and this course supported her in building a site specific version of this work.


· Polina Shapkina had been working on “Hungry Ghosts” as part of the 4-week residency in Montreal & IACC with a performance of work in progress at Fidget Feet’s IADF this year. We continue to support Polly’s journey as a director and for this directors lab, she worked with Shane O’Leary & Lydia Moran on a new idea.

IACC as the National Aerial Circus Space is proud to continue to support the growth of the sector.

IACC has been successful with another Arts Council IRIS application & IACC with Lucy Medlycott from ISASCs, will support Polly & Ali on a trip to CINARS Bienalle in Montreal for international connections.

IACC is hugely grateful to the Arts Council for this continued support. Watch this space for more information on the successful applicants to the next Directors lab in Montréal planned for Feb 2027!

Creative Intensive 2026 ✨

DEADLINE 13TH SEPTEMBER!!

The Creative Intensive is an annual three week training on aerial technique and creativity. This training program for professionals was designed for aerialists who want to work on improving their technique and produce aerial acts, and also for dancers who want to get more aerial training and create an aerial dance solo.

The next announced dates are:

November 16th to December 5th 2026.

There are strictly 16 places total.

Deadline 13th September.
