If you watch this live U6 session on our site you'll see at the beginning of this game, the kids were very bunched. We used two things here to encourage the children to spread out. We never said a word to them about spreading out, we just did two things:
1. Coach played as a floater to help spread the play at the beginning
2. We used a countdown condition for striking the ball
