An incredible β¬21,500 was raised through this yearβs charity coffee morning, a remarkable achievement and a fitting tribute to Eleanor Allen Foley.
As the cheque was presented, Eleanorβs family, friends, and members of Ballydonoghue GAA gathered together to mark the occasion. The outstanding amount raised reflected not only the impact Eleanor had on so many lives but also the tremendous support and generosity of the local community.
Representatives of Kerry Cancer Support Group Transport Link accepted the cheque and expressed their heartfelt gratitude. They said they never expected such a significant donation and described it as an extraordinary gesture that will help support many families facing cancer, just as Eleanor and her family did.
On behalf of the Foley and Allen families, Donal Foley presented a beautiful token of appreciation to the club β a Kerry No. 3 jersey belonging to Jason Foley, signed by the entire Kerry team. The jersey also featured a photograph of Eleanor, alongside the date of the coffee morning and recognition of the wonderful charity for which the event was held.
Eleanor βNellβ will always hold a special place in the heart of Ballydonoghue GAA. Her kindness, warmth and community spirit will never be forgotten. Her memory will live on in the stories shared, the friendships made, and in the special space created in her honour within the club β a lasting reminder of the positive impact she had on all who knew her.
