Friday Evening Social Golf :
Our Friday evening 9 hole scramble continues on Friday next .Experienced golfers and newcomers are welcome to come along as it’s aimed at all golfers in the club and as a means of golfers meeting and playing in a social setting . We hope to see a good crowd turning up for the first week. We will be ready to let groups out from 5pm.Thanks to our members who volunteer to help out on a weekly basis.

Unfortunately this Classic had to be postponed due to the inclement weather on Saturday. It will be played on Saturday September 19th and all teams will be allocated their t times in the coming week.

Australian Spoons Final:
The All Ireland Final of The Australian Spoons was held at Co Longford Golf Club on Monday August 24th. Teams from all over Ireland played in the competition. Well done to our own Ger Murphy and Sheila Kearney who represented our club.It was a very well run event and the visiting teams were very impressed by the upkeep and excellent condition of the course. Thanks to Ciarán and staff for looking after everybody on the day and also thanks to Dial A Chef for lovely food.

Granard Cup Regional Final:
On Monday 24th Frances Farrell and Susan Eades represented Co Longford Golf Club in The Granard Cup Regional Final in Millicent Golf Club. Congratulation to them as they came away as winners with a fantastic score of 47 points.They will now play in The All Ireland Final in Mullingar on September 17th. Best of luck ladies!

Silver and Bronze Medal Winners:
Best of luck to Olivia Conroy as she plays in The Leinster Silver Medal Final in Naas on Monday 7th September.Also to Anne Casey as she plays in Kilcock for The Leinster Bronze Medal Final on Monday August 31st.

Longford GAA Classic:
Due to excessive rainfall the GAA Classic had to be cancelled on Saturday 29th August. It will be rescheduled for a new date.

PGA Tankard:
Best of luck to Pete Duignan, Ena Courtney Earley and Michael Murray who are playing in The Regional Final in Royal Tara Golf Club on Monday September 7th.

Coaching at the driving range every Saturday from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.
Well done to Rebecca Lacey who played in the U13 Faldo Final at The Belfry Golf Resort on Wednesday August 26th. Rebecca represented Co Longford Golf Club at this prestigious event which took place the same week as The British Masters, hosted by Nick Faldo.A wonderful achievement Rebecca though not being placed.

O50 Club:
On August 27th A Mixed 12 Hole Scramble Competition was played by over 40 players. The winners on the day were Roger Timlin, Bart O Malley , Irene Yorke and Marcella Kavanagh.
Runners up were Pat Masterson, Sheila Kearney, Angela Smith and Colette Skelly.

Congrats to Gerry Penrose who had a Hole in One on the 4th hole in the Wednesday Open. His playing partners were happy to join in the celebrations.

Rebecca Leacy participated in the Faldo Futures Final at The Belfry today. Though not being placed, Rebecca was undoubtedly a wonderful representative of our club on the international stage. Well done Rebecca, we are very proud of your achievement.
