As Halloween approaches, we’re asking everyone to please think twice before setting off fireworks, bangers or similar items in and around the village.
What might seem like a bit of fun can cause real distress and danger for others. The sudden loud noises can be particularly frightening for older residents, young children and anyone who may be sensitive to unexpected noise.
Pets can become extremely distressed and may panic, escape from gardens or run onto roads. Wildlife and farm animals can also be badly frightened and disoriented by loud bangs and flashes.
There is also the very real risk of injury, fire and damage to property when fireworks are used in residential areas.
Please help us keep Belcarra a safe and considerate place for everyone this Halloween.
Enjoy the celebrations, but please leave the fireworks and bangers out of the village.
