Mayo Mayhem would like to take a moment to give some very special praise and thanks to Bouke from Witchcraft Windsurfing.
Bouke has been a great friend and loyal sponsor of Mayo Mayhem right from the very beginning,
Over the years, he has generously provided sails for our up-and-coming riders to use for a full year, giving them the chance to experience and get comfortable on the fantastic equipment they deserve to be riding. Their support over the years has been nothing short of incredible.
But this year, Bouke really went above and beyond! 🙌
At a time when we really needed a helping hand, our raffle — which is an essential part of our fundraising — was looking a little light on prizes.
As always, Bouke stepped up to the plate and completely transformed what was shaping up to be a fairly ordinary raffle into an AMAZING one, by generously donating a Witchcraft board as our star prize! 🔥
And we couldn't have been happier to see the board go to Woodies, So, from everyone involved in Mayo Mayhem, a MASSIVE THANK YOU to Bouke and team rider Dan Kealy for their incredible generosity, friendship and continued support.
It's people like you who help make Mayo Mayhem what it is. We really couldn't do it without you! ❤️
Now, let's hear a few words from Bouke himself about why he loves Mayo Mayhem and why he continues to support this special event! 🤙🌊
I Support the Mayo Mayhem event for 9 years since I think it is the coolest event ever. Held in a place with some of the best conditions windsurfing has to offer and organized by a cool bunch of windsurfers for windsurfers, without the pressure of commercial interests. I see it more as a get together event to show cast the conditions Ireland has to offer rather than a competition. In the end, any day on the water, any photo or video posted on line, is a kind of little competition, where people can make out their own “champions”. Even if it were to be for the biggest smile. If I were to make a list of places which I would consider to be best to develop windsurfing gear, Ireland would definitely be high on that list, just below the north shore of Fuerteventura 😉. I also think that low-cost events like this are the future.

🔥 MAYO MAYHEM 2026 – OFFICIAL EVENT VIDEO 🔥
Powered by RWE | PWA WWT 3-Star World Tour | IWA Championship

Two days. Four riders per heat. Insane action. One unforgettable weekend on Ireland’s wild Atlantic coast! 🌊🔥
Welcome to MAYO MAYHEM 2026, held in the stunning surroundings of Belmullet, County Mayo, Ireland, in September 2026!

A PWA WWT 3-Star World Tour event, also forming part of the IWA Championship, Mayo Mayhem brought together incredible riders, explosive wave action and an electric atmosphere for two unforgettable days of competition.
And this year, Mayo delivered something truly special — glorious sunshine all weekend! ☀️

The west coast of Ireland is a magical place to windsurf, especially when the late evening sun lights up the Atlantic. But while those golden conditions create a spectacular backdrop for the riders, they also present a serious challenge behind the camera!
For this edit, I made a decision: the riders and their incredible moves deserved to be seen, even if that meant keeping a few clips where the sunshine pushed the exposure a little too far. Sometimes the action is simply too good to leave out!

With four-man heats, nonstop moves and just one cameraman trying to capture it all, getting every moment on film was always going to be impossible. This video isn't every move from every heat — it's a celebration of the event, the atmosphere, the riders and the incredible level of windsurfing on display.

And some moments were just too special to miss! Timo's insane double absolutely had to make the final cut, even if it meant borrowing footage from the lower-quality livestream. Because when a rider pulls off something that spectacular, it deserves its moment in the spotlight! 🤯

So turn up the volume, sit back, relax and soak up the sunshine, the energy and the madness of an epic weekend on Ireland's west coast.

This is more than just a competition. This is the spirit of windsurfing. This is MAYO MAYHEM 2026!

Here they are! 📸✨

Some absolutely stunning photos from Marco, who has once again captured the true essence of Mayo Mayhem 2026 — the action, the people, the energy, and most of all, the joy!

Every photo tells a story and brings the event to life all over again.

Fantastic job, Marco! We’re so lucky to have you capturing these special moments for us. 👏❤️

❤️🌊 MAYO MAYHEM 2026 — A MASSIVE THANK YOU 🌊❤️

Hi all,

Now that the dust has settled — although apparently the Atlantic still hasn’t 😂 — I just want to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to everyone who helped us pull off yet another epic Mayo Mayhem.

An event like this simply doesn’t happen by itself.

There are so many people working behind the scenes — often giving up their own time on the water — to make sure everything runs safely, fairly and, hopefully, somewhere close to smoothly!

I’ll try to keep this concise… although looking at the number of people who helped, I’m already failing! 😂

⚖️ JUDGES & COMPETITION TEAM

A huge thank you to our judging and competition team:

Francise Nogue — Head Judge
Myles Scullion
Rob Mulholland — not only a judge, but also a sponsor, supplying some very cool MM merchandise!
Duncan Combs — Race Director
Louise & Oleg

Judging in those conditions is no easy job. Long hours, difficult decisions and a lot of responsibility — thank you for keeping the competition moving and giving the riders the event they deserved. 🙌

🚨 WATER SAFETY & MEDICAL

These are the people we simply cannot run an event without:

Dave Garvey — Safety Officer
Vicky Guthrie — Event Doctor
Bernard — Ski Operator
Dan Kealy — Backup Ski
Aaron Lee — Lifeguard

With the size of the conditions we had this year, knowing we had such an experienced team watching over everyone gave us enormous confidence.

Thank you for keeping our riders safe. ❤️

🛠️ SET-UP CREW & THE LEGENDARY QUAD TEAM

Kevin “The Legend” Walsh
Lukas Szczerbak
Cathal Clarke
Nick Fletcher
Ed Comey

From setting up and breaking down the competition area to hauling equipment and riders up and down the beach, these guys just got stuck in.

And yes… the quad and trailer may have become an attraction in their own right. 😂

I think it brought the kid out in all of us!

📸🎥 MEDIA TEAM

An event can be incredible, but without the people capturing it, so many of those moments disappear.

🎙️ Dan MacAuly — Commentary
🎥 Ed Comey — Camera

Thank you for capturing the action, atmosphere, wipeouts, smiles and madness — and for sharing Mayo Mayhem with everyone who couldn’t be standing on the beach with us.

🎨 SIGNAGE & STICKERS

A big thank you to Pav Jankowski for all the signage and stickers that helped make the event look the part.

🍔☕🍺 FOOD, DRINK & HOSPITALITY

Keeping a beach full of windsurfers fed and watered is a competition in itself!

A huge thanks to:

Oleg & Gosha — beach catering with Elba Chocolates
Andrew and his family at Unas — for once again making Unas our home for the weekend ❤️
Rudolf Schleicher — our very own B**r Master 🍺😂
Thibault at Tartan Organic Bakery — for the fantastic coffee and pastries
Hanna at Leim Siar — accommodation and support

And to everyone who fed, watered, housed or generally looked after this crazy bunch of windsurfers — THANK YOU.

🚜 OUR LOCAL LANDOWNERS

A very special thank you to the farmers and landowners who gave us permission to use their land for parking and access.

Tommy at Elly and Malachy at Cross Beach — your cooperation makes a massive difference.

Please never underestimate how important this local goodwill is to Mayo Mayhem. ❤️

🇮🇪 THE IWA

A massive thank you to the Irish Windsurfing Association for its continued support of Mayo Mayhem.

And a very special mention has to go to Tomasz Lotocki.

Tomasz built the live scoring system we used this year, provided the lighting system and somehow managed to keep everything running while also…

Competing.
Doing interviews.
Flying the drone.
And probably doing another ten jobs nobody noticed! 😂

That is what Mayo Mayhem is all about.

Thank you, Tomasz. 🙌

A big thanks also to Katie McAnena, who stepped in to help coordinate the lights and flag system when we needed it.

And to Dan MacAuly, who joined me in the commentary box for the livestream, with Ed Comey behind the camera bringing the action to everyone watching from home.

🏛️ LOCAL SUPPORT

A massive thank you to the people of Belmullet, who welcome us into their community every year. ❤️

Thanks also to Mayo County Council for the sponsorship, beach permits and access at Cross Beach.

Thank you to the LEADER Programme, whose support helped us fund essential media and safety equipment.

And to local councillors Sean Carey and Gerry Coyle — thank you for your continued support of Mayo Mayhem.

A big thank you also to Brian from Belmullet Chamber of Commerce for your support.

Having the local community behind this event means an enormous amount to us.

🤝❤️ OUR INCREDIBLE SPONSORS

And then there are the companies, brands and individuals who get behind Mayo Mayhem and help make all of this possible.

First and foremost, a MASSIVE thank you to our main sponsor, RWE.

Your support has helped us take Mayo Mayhem to another level in 2026, and we are incredibly grateful to have you behind the event. ❤️🌊

A huge thank you also to our supporting sponsors:

⚡ Energia
🌊 Lolex
🏛️ Mayo County Council
🏄 Paddy at In Your Element
🔥 Goya

And a very special mention has to go to Witchcraft Windsurfing, who really stepped up again for Mayo Mayhem this year.

Not only did they provide us with a fantastic sponsorship package (3 sails) , but they also donated what I think is one of the biggest individual raffle prizes we’ve ever had — a Witchcraft windsurfing board! 🔥🏄

A massive thank you to team rider Dan Kealy and Bouke Becker for making that happen and for your continued support of Mayo Mayhem.

🎁🌊 AND TO ALL OUR SECONDARY SPONSORS & PRIZE SUPPORTERS…

We had an incredible amount of support this year from people and businesses who donated prizes, equipment, services and their time.

A HUGE Mayo Mayhem thank you to:

❤️ Jamie Knox
📚 Tricktionary
☀️ Godzilla
🏄‍♂️ Colin “Whippy” Dixon
🌊 Achill Outdoors
🤙 Covy Wetsuits
🔥 K4 Fins
❤️ Bernie & Michael Clancy
🏄 Flikka
👑 King of Keifer
🚑 Medicus Medical
🇬🇷 Paros Windsurf Centre
🌊 Chinook / Ezzy
🏄 Surfdock
📖 Windsurfer Magazine
🏆 Windsurf Fantasy League

Every prize donated, every bit of equipment supplied and every bit of support offered makes a genuine difference.

Some of these prizes were incredible — from windsurfing equipment and coaching to weeks of equipment rental in some pretty amazing windsurfing destinations.

Your generosity helped make our raffle bigger, helped us raise essential funds and added another fantastic dimension to the whole Mayo Mayhem weekend.

And to everyone who bought a raffle ticket — thank you. ❤️

Each year, we work incredibly hard to raise the funds needed to put on an event at this level, so every ticket bought and every bit of support genuinely helps make Mayo Mayhem possible.

Please know how much we appreciate every single contribution. 🙌❤️

Your sponsorship doesn’t just put prizes on the table.

It helps us run the event, improve safety, promote Irish windsurfing and give the next generation of riders something to aspire to.

We genuinely couldn’t do it without you.

🎧🔥 AND FINALLY… DJ MAYHEM

Last — but DEFINITELY not least…

DJ MAYHEM.

Keeping everyone entertained with some absolutely cranking tunes! 😂🔥

Legend has it that he disappeared with the French crew after the event…

…and that somewhere in Mayo, a campervan still hasn’t stopped pumping out the tunes. 🇫🇷🎶😂

We can neither confirm nor deny these reports.

❤️🌊 AND TO EVERYONE ELSE…

To every person who carried a flag, moved a board, drove a quad, took a photo, judged a heat, cooked food, poured a pint, watched the water, held a camera, helped a competitor, cleaned up, set up, packed down or simply asked:

“What can I do to help?”

Thank you.

And if I’ve forgotten someone, please forgive me — there were a LOT of people involved and very little sleep! 😂

Most importantly, thank you to every rider who travelled from Ireland and across Europe to compete.

You brought the energy.
You brought the talent.
You brought the craic.

And you made Mayo Mayhem powered by RWE 2026 something very, very special.

💨 Big wind.
🌊 Big waves.
❤️ Big hearts.
😂 Big characters.
🤝 One incredible team.

Mayo Mayhem isn’t one person.

It’s all of you.

From the bottom of my heart…

❤️ THANK YOU. ❤️

See you in 2027. 🤙🌊🔥

🌊 MAYO MAYHEM POWERED BY RWE 2026

THE ONE THAT WILL BE HARD TO BEAT

What can I say?

We thought Mayo Mayhem 2025 was epic and would take a long time to beat.
We were wrong.

A week before this year’s event, people were already openly talking about the possibility that it might not happen that weekend. Some were preparing themselves for a rollover and another nervous wait for the right conditions.
Nobody could have predicted what was about to happen.
Mayo Mayhem powered by RWE 2026 was, without doubt, our biggest and most memorable edition yet.

The conditions, the quality of the riding, the atmosphere and the sheer number of people who travelled to be part of it all came together to create something very special.

The Atlantic switched on a few days before the competition started — and it looks like it has no intention of switching off anytime soon!

Once again, the event showed exactly what Mayo Mayhem is all about: Irish riders, visiting riders and competitors from across Europe coming together to chase wind and waves, compete hard, make new friends and have a seriously good time.

🌊 THURSDAY — THE UNOFFICIAL MAYO MAYHEM WARM-UP
Mayo Mayhem never really waits until the official start.
For those who arrived early, Thursday delivered the perfect warm-up.
The first session was at Elly Beach, with 3.7 and 4.2 sails getting plenty of use. As the southerly swung southwest and eased a little, the action moved to Cross Beach, where head-high waves provided a brilliant evening session, with most riders settling onto 4.7s.
And just like that, Mayo Mayhem was underway.
By Friday morning, riders were arriving from all directions and Unas Pub in Blacksod, our Mayo Mayhem HQ, became the meeting point.
Coffee and pastries, courtesy of Thibault from Tartan Organic Bakery, helped break the ice as old friends caught up and new friendships were made.
Goodie bags were handed out, forecasts were studied and the plan for the weekend was set:
Find the best conditions Mayo could offer and share them with one of the friendliest, most enthusiastic — and seriously competitive — groups of windsurfers you could ask for.

🔥 FRIDAY — CROSS BEACH DELIVERS
Cross Beach was once again selected as our competition venue.
The forecast promised southwest winds and a west swell, with the wind expected to build throughout the day.
The competition zone was set around 500 metres up the beach in front of the main peak, giving competitors the best possible conditions but potentially a lot of walking, This year, however, we had a secret weapon.
A quad bike with a flatbed trailer ran up and down the beach all day transporting riders and equipment. (Saving the organisers from listening to a beach full of complaints about the walk! 😂)
It turned out to be almost as much fun as the windsurfing. There was definitely a bit of the kid in all of us as we flew up and down the beach!

Then it was time to get serious.
The Amateurs hit the water first, followed by the Women, Under-18s and Pro fleet.

We managed to run close to 20 heats before the huge spring tide eventually decided it had had enough and evicted us from the beach.

What a first day of competition.
Wind. Waves. Sunshine. And a beach full of colour and energy.
With the site packed down, everyone headed back to Unas for food, drinks and the usual amount of rubbish talking before Saturday’s main event.
And what a main event it would turn out to be.
________________________________________
🔥 SATURDAY — ELLY BEACH GOES NEXT LEVEL
Saturday began with an 8:30am beach briefing, with the first heat hitting the water at 10am.

The day started with the second-chance rounds before the wind really filled in and we moved into several hours of solid side-shore conditions.

Then Elly started to build.
The waves went from around half-mast to logo-high and beyond, the sails got smaller and smaller, and the standard of sailing went through the roof.
This was the Mayo everyone had travelled for.

🏄 THE NEXT GENERATION — OUR FIRST UNDER-18 FLEET
For the first time ever, Mayo Mayhem introduced an Under-18 fleet.
And what a group of young lads they were.
The bravery and enthusiasm they showed was genuinely inspiring.
They launched into some of the biggest conditions many of them had ever experienced — and rather than being intimidated, they absolutely loved it.
We managed to run several heats before the safety team made the call that conditions had become too extreme to continue the U18 competition fairly and safely.

That was absolutely the right decision.
In the end, Joshua Roberts was awarded first place.
A huge amount of respect goes to all four of our young competitors:
🌊 Mateusz Lotocki
🌊 Oscar Roe
🌊 Sam Comey
🏆 Joshua Roberts
Remember those names.
If this is the future of Irish windsurfing, the future looks very bright indeed.
________________________________________
🏆 AMATEURS
The Amateur semi-finals produced two three-man heats, with Ameriac Delabatie and Jack Andrews narrowly missing out on the final.

That left:
Pawel Jankowski
Mark Henderson
Clément Créach
Cathal Clarke
to battle it out for the Mayo Mayhem Amateur title.
And what conditions they got for it.
Logo- to mast-high sets rolled through, with riders down on 3.4 to 3.7 sails.

It became a fierce battle between Pawel and Mark, but in the end Mark Henderson found the extra points he needed with a clean forward to secure the win.
🏆 AMATEUR RESULTS
🥇 Mark Henderson — UK / Ezzy
🥈 Pawel Jankowski — Poland / Ireland
🥉 Cathal Clarke — Ireland
4️⃣ Clément Créach — France
An epic final in conditions that none of them will forget in a hurry.
________________________________________
🏆 WOMEN
The Women’s competition produced one of the surprises of the weekend when local legend Katie McAnena had an uncharacteristic semi-final and missed out on the final.

That left Irish riders Amy O'Donnell and Aoife Cooke facing visiting French challengers Taina Postec and Maïwenn Deffontaines.
Strong winds. Big waves. Four riders going for it.
It produced a brilliant final.
And when it was over, it was local ripper Amy O'Donnell who raised the Irish flag and took the win. 🇮🇪🔥

🏆 WOMEN’S RESULTS
🥇 Amy O'Donnell — Ireland
🥈 Taina Postec — France
🥉 Maïwenn Deffontaines — France
4️⃣ Aoife Cooke — Ireland

A fantastic performance from all four women in seriously demanding conditions.
________________________________________
🔥 THE PRO FLEET
Then came the men’s semi-finals.
And things went completely off the charts.
The first semi-final featured Nicolas Quéméner, Rob , Baptiste Cloarec and Alex Dugan.

The second brought together Julius Byrne, Timo Mullen and Lucas Meldrum.
One of the moments of the entire weekend came early in that second semi-final.

Timo came absolutely flying off the beach, found a huge ramp and launched into a massive double forward.
Two rotations.
A huge reaction from the beach.
For a moment, it looked like he had it.
Unfortunately, the landing wasn’t quite there, and the lost points ultimately proved enough to keep him out of the final.
But what a moment.

In the same heat, Julius and Lucas were absolutely on fire.
Both produced what many people watching described as some of the best sailing of their lives, combining stylish wave riding with huge forwards and backies.
And somehow, things were about to get even better.
________________________________________
🚀 THE PRO FINAL — MAYO MAYHEM TURNED UP TO 11
If the semi-finals were epic, the final turned the volume up to 11.

Baptiste Cloarec.
Nicolas Quéméner.
Julius Byrne.
Lucas Meldrum.
Four riders came out fighting in conditions that were already incredible — and somehow managed to make them look even better.
Lucas looked dominant early on, putting together wave after wave of high-scoring moves.

Then Baptiste came alive.
A beautiful wave ride finished with a clean, big one-handed Goiter.
Lucas and Julius responded with Goiter attempts of their own, with Lucas sticking his.
Nicolas struggled to find the same rhythm, with his normally dominant jumping not quite coming together when he needed it.
For a while, it genuinely looked like Lucas had the title.

Then came the final minutes.
Baptiste launched high into the air, threw the board back and committed to a massive push loop.
The beach erupted. 🔥
The judges rewarded it with 8.5 points.
Combined with his stylish wave riding, one-handed goyters and big backies, it was enough to put him on top.

🏆🪓 BAPTISTE CLOAREC BECAME THE MAYO MAYHEM POWERED BY RWE 2026 PRO CHAMPION — AND TOOK HOME THE FAMOUS MAYO MAYHEM AXE.

🏆 PRO RESULTS
🥇 Baptiste Cloarec — France / RRD
🥈 Lucas Meldrum — UK / North & Goya
🥉 Nicolas Quéméner — France / Ocean 5 & Flikka
4️⃣ Julius Byrne — Ireland / Starboard

The results only tell part of the story.
Lucas and Julius, in particular, pushed Baptiste all the way and produced outstanding performances in some seriously demanding conditions.
It was one hell of a final.

❤️ THE FUTURE PRO / MIKEY CLANCY AWARD
Some awards are about results.

This one is about something different.
The Future Pro / Mikey Clancy Award goes to the rider who embodies the spirit we want to see at Mayo Mayhem — someone who brings stoke, passion, fun, excitement and positivity to the event.

Someone who simply loves being there.
This year, that person was Fionn Lynch.
The guy just didn’t stop smiling.
His enthusiasm and positivity were infectious, and he brought exactly the kind of energy this award is all about.
🏆❤️ Congratulations, Fionn. Never lose that stoke.

🌙 AND THAT WAS MAYO MAYHEM 2026...
…or was it?
With the light fading and the tide rising, the competition was finally done.
Everyone headed back to Unas for dinner, the prize-giving and, of course…
🎧🔥 DJ MAYHEM!
The competition might have been finished.
The windsurfing definitely wasn’t.
Sunday started slowly before another pulse of wind and swell arrived.
Around 20 riders headed back to Cross Beach for another fantastic day of sunshine and port-tack wave riding, while another 15 or so went down the road to Faulmore for some starboard-tack action.
And still it wasn’t over.
Many of our visiting riders stayed on for Monday’s session at Elly, scoring yet another logo-high day.
And Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and the wind hasn’t stopped and it is still looking epic.

After a relatively quiet summer for wind and waves, the Atlantic had finally woken from its slumber.
It couldn’t have timed it any better.

🌍 A EUROPEAN GATHERING ON THE MAYO COAST
This is the bit that really matters.
What makes Mayo Mayhem special isn’t simply who wins.
It isn’t just the wind.
And it isn’t just the waves.
It’s the people.
Riders travel from all over Ireland and across Europe to sail together, compete against each other and experience this incredible corner of County Mayo.
Local Irish talent alongside visiting French, British, Polish and European riders.
Sponsored professionals sharing the beach with dedicated amateurs.
Established names alongside an Under-18 fleet experiencing their first taste of Mayo Mayhem competition.
Old friends reunited.
New friendships made.
People battling each other in a heat one minute and laughing together on the beach the next.
That is Mayo Mayhem.
And that is what Mayo Mayhem powered by RWE is all about.
💨 Big wind.
🌊 Big waves.
🚀 Big moves.
🌍 An international crew.
😂 Big characters.
❤️ And a whole lot of fun.
We thought 2025 was going to be hard to beat.
We were wrong.

🔥🌊 MAYO MAYHEM POWERED BY RWE 2026 JUST RAISED THE BAR AGAIN. 🌊🔥
And something tells us…
2027 has a lot to live up to. 🤙
