Fishing westport

Been a long time since we caught 1 of these beauties at clareisland,, water temp is well up,,, 1995 is last time I seen 1 on board 🌞…cheers Peter&crew 8 species and a rare catch in these waters…

Not too bad for a short trip 6 species and plenty of mackrel&pollach going back for the bbq… cheers folks!!

Story so far,,, mackrel are in the bay but still patchy some days,2hr kids trips has started,,still beautifying lady Helen between trips after the major refit but the weather ain’t helping my painting party,, besides that Clare island is fishing well on the fullday trips,,plenty of po***ck and enough mackrel, so far best day for species is 16,,3 spaces has become available for tomorrow fullday trip,Wednesday Aug 12 so drop a line 📞 to drop a line 🎣 😉…

I love when the weather settles after a storm… the fish are hungry today,,might be finished early today😉… 7 species so far and plenty of them goin back to Dublin….

A much better start to this weekend….

Productive 2 days with the marine institute electronic tagging skate,(3 skate & 1 Tope) In clew bay they have a few monitoring devices in certain areas and if them skate come within 1km of device they will be registered and logged, that brings the total to 9 skate tagged with them over the last 2 years,,I would ask fellow skate anglers if you catch a skate with an electronic tag in it please treat with care, perhaps avoid landing them if possible as them tags are very important in trying to understand the habits,life& travels of the flapper skate
