Macroom 2 - 4 Midleton

The girls got the new season off to a good start with a win away to Macroom on Sunday night. Goal scorers Ciara Finn, Ellody and a brace from Ellie Coughlan sees us move into the quarter finals away to Riverstown.

Lots of good performances with Jayla Nugent the standout on the night.

Well done girls and to Ref John Corcoran who was excellent.

U18 League Cup
Leeside 2 - 6 Midleton A

Victory away from home in the cup this evening. We started brilliantly scoring after 1 min - Sean Guiney with a great finish across the keeper into the bottom corner. We went 2 up after 10 mins with Michael scoring a penalty.

Leeside went down to 10 men early in the game but in fairness they played good football and were very dangerous from set pieces.

We added another 2 goals Sean Guiney and Hugh scoring brilliant goals from distance. 4-0 up at half time we brought on Danny Patton in goals and Jamie Fielding making their debut for the club.

We were quite sloppy in the second half especially in possession Leeside scoring a couple of deserved goals but we were able to wrap up the game with Sean Guiney getting his hatrick.
Dan Guiney got our 6th with a powerful header from an Eoin Garvey corner.

Good win with all 16 players getting good minutes on the pitch.

Kay McGrath U13 Cup – Round 1
Kinsale AFC vs Midleton FC

A fantastic start to the season with a comprehensive win in the first round of the Kay McGrath Cup.

Panna and Sarra both were clinical in their finishes, with Orla and Rose also getting on the scoresheet. Orla and Rose worked tirelessly on the wings throughout the game and deserved their goals for their efforts. Darcie also found the net from a free kick— with a real sense of déjà vu!

Special mention to Panna and Aibhlinn for the endless energy and work rate they brought to the game. A really strong all-round team performance with plenty of positives to take into the season.

Best of luck to Kinsale AFC for the season ahead.

Crosshaven FC v Midleton Magpies

A fantastic start to the season for the girls, with a great win in their first game in the 11-a-side format.

From the opening whistle, they played with good intensity, moving the ball well and creating plenty of opportunities in the final third.

There was some excellent link-up play, quick passing and good movement off the ball, while defensively the girls worked hard to stay organised and win the ball back.

The second half saw the girls continue to control the game, showing great composure and determination right through to the final whistle.

A really positive team performance and a well-earned victory. Well done, girls!

Also, wishing the best of luck to Crosshaven in their season ahead.

Midleton C v Passage A

Early and a very wet start at the cricket this morning. A first time for many of these boys playing a competitive football match and they represented their club and team well. They worked hard and kept going to the final whistle . Mention to Robert in goal who did so well.

Thanks to the boys from U12 who played up today. Thanks also to ref David and the very best to Passage in the season ahead.

Douglas Hall 1–1 Midleton

First competitive game and a tough away trip this morning.

A tight first half with little between the teams.

Second half, the boys really stepped it up and started to take control, with Jack O’Meara causing plenty of problems up front.

Douglas took the lead against the run of play after a controversial challenge in the build-up was waved on.
But the lads showed great character 💪, kept battling and turned up the pressure. Chance after chance, and eventually the equaliser came — Reece Coffee with an outstanding volley from an O’Meara corner! ⚽🔥

We pushed for the winner and had more chances, but the Douglas keeper pulled off a huge save late on.
1–1 FT.

👏 Great effort and character and a positive start to the season.

Midleton U13B 3-4 Coachford

A battling performance from Midleton U13B, who came up just short against Coachford today.

Evan gave Midleton the lead with a well-taken penalty before adding a second goal shortly after.

Trailing at the break, the lads responded brilliantly in the second half, raising their intensity and showing great determination, with Midleton adding a third goal and pushing hard for an equaliser right to the end.

Plenty of positives to take from the game. Fitness, passing and communication will be key as the season progresses.

Special mention to Ronan Thomas, who stepped into goal today and did an excellent job for the team. Well done to all the lads! ⚽👏

CSL U16 Prem
Midleton 0 Castleview 2

Unfortunately we suffered defeat in our first game of the season today with a 2 nil loss.

After an even first half where both teams struggled to create any major chances with the game lacking composure first half ended all square .
1st goal was going to be vital in a game like this and within 2 mins of the restart Castleview took a somewhat contentious lead.

Castleview were defending really well and got a second with 15mins to go after poor defending from a long goal kick.

A game when we were not at our best by a long shot but the 1st goal is always a game changer.

Onto the next one with Ringmahon on tues night

Senior players Robert O Connor, Jake Hegarty, and Shane Hallahan headed to England this weekend for a training camp with the Irish Regions Cup team. They had their final game of the weekend today .
