Cork athlete Billy Twomey (Show Jumper) Official has just finished fourth in four-star competition in Gijon, the Spanish town made famous in Ireland when Kevin Moran signed from Manchester United to play with the La Liga soccer club.
Twomey and eight-year-old talent, Ace Of Hearts were clear on each part of the two-phase 1.50m class, posting a time of 29.58 seconds in the speed section for a ribbon, just off the podium.
The competition was won by French pilot, Emeric George, on board Dune de Ru with a time of 28.72.
