A few have said this, particularly since Sunday, that there is an issue with the advantage rule interpretation
At one point in Salthill the referee gave Galway an advantage that seemed as long as a Six Nations attack! Then in the same instance later, Westmeath were deemed to have had their advantage over after a much shorter time frame
While it had no real bearing on the game, it is something that seems to be skewed..
The official guidelines simply state that the referee should allow play to continue for as long as a clear tactical benefit or scoring opportunity exists for the offended team.. so how does one advantage seemingly outweigh another when the result of both was the same? Seems to be a rule that's too open to interpretation and wouldn't like it to impact a game in a more serious way

Hadn't space in the Topic this week for player ratings etc but this was the man who was best, I believe, for Westmeath last weekend
Tadhg is another on the team who, a bit like Conor D, does so much incredible work on and off the ball and doesn't always get the headlines. Has been consistently performing this season too so long may it continue!

I'm obsessed with stats, sport history and random info in sport so in between watching highlights and reading every article going I worked out a few small bits on the Westmeath season to date. The main ones I suppose!
Unprecedented in our history

An incredible advertisement for football and a game which played on many emotions from the off!
Both sides gave it their all and the support from the Westmeath contingent was immense. We came up against the best front six in the game at the moment and while things didn't always work out we never let up and pushed it to the wire. Westmeath fought to the death and we're all incredibly proud of the lads πͺ
Comghairdeas do Gaillimhe - great craic with some lovely people and the whole day in Salthill was fantastic
Heads held high and we go again next weekend
