🔥HOTSHOTS - SENIOR FOOTBALL
A new leader at the top as Robbie continues his consistent form for Moate. What about the top 3? - 33, 32 and 31 overall!
Shane A, Luke and a couple of others enter the top tier table also. Final round of the groups this weekend so any amount to play for yet. For others, it will be the end of the road for 2026.
In the Two Point Punters, Eoghan and John have hit new heights - no surprise Tubberclair and Lomans also the only sides in double digits for orange flags!
Despite being out injured, Stephen is the highest goalscorer still - wishing the Athlone man a speedy recovery
Just like last year when they survived relegation on the last game, Tang are in the same boat again AND their two main men Adam and Aidan have scored 4-30 out of 5-44 for their side!!
Senan the latest 2026 Leinster Champion to add himself to the scoring list after his return from the States. Danny (USA) and Matty (injured) also returned to play their first minutes
Thanks to KC Maintenance Mullingar for sponsoring the SFC Hotshot
(as always it's a sea of numbers doing every code and grade so if you do spot a typo or error do let me know and I'll fix it for the next round!)

Some great scoring from Roisin, Shauna, Amy and Alex this week while Paige continues to help Lomans with her scoring
A few new names scored this week for their sides too which is always great!
(I'm sponsoring this Hotshots but if any business wants to get involved let me know)
It's a sea of numbers on my own so if you do think you spot an error/typo do let me know

What It Means (Part 2)
In section B, Tang and Tyrrellspass in the final round is the relegation decider. Loser drops to intermediate. Even if Tang beat Tubberclair tomorrow, they would be on 2 with TPass on 1 and Killucan (currently on 3 playing tomorrow).
Killucan v Athlone is huge. Athlone win and the top 3 is decided before the final round. Athlone and Moate would be on 6, Tubberclair on 6 currently and playing tomorrow. Worst case would be all 3 on 6pt it TC lose. Killucan winning means they would go to 5, Athlone drop out on 4. The last round has meaning then suddenly! All to play for
In intermediate A, Malachy's are on 7 after this evening's dramatic win. Milltown winning tomorrow would also put them on 7, shandonagh on 5.. milltownpass play Multy tomorrow. MTP need a win to get to 5 points alongside Shandonagh. And those two meet in the last round!!!
In section B, Ballymore are through with 4 wins. Wins for Rosemount and Ballinagore would bring them to 6 leaving Rochfortbridge on 4 and outside the knockout spots. Regardless Ballinagore v Bridge on last day will be a winner takes all as the victor takes a knockout spot. CFCW technically can still survive with a win and hope Maryland don't win tomorrow (the 2 meet on the last day!)
It's still a minefield - and it's feckin great 😂😂😂

What It Means.....
Trying to answer the many messages asking how things stand and what happens next
A championship that has so far been as predictable as the 5c machines Tomás and Páidí played last week... 😂
After Lomans 4th draw in a row (which I can't find any record of ever happening before - still looking!) it means that after tomorrow's games we will know exactly how tight it is going into the final round. Even before tomorrow there have now been SIX DRAWN GAMES 😂
Let's say (no disrespect to anyone btw) that The Downs beat Caulry tomorrow. It would leave them on 6 points. Kinnegad are also on 6. Lomans lie on 4 and with Shamrocks and Garrycastle on 3 each playing each other it means both could be on 4 by tomorrow evening if it was a draw, or one will go to 5 and the other stay on 3. So it would be...
Kinnegad 6 or Kinnegad 6 or Kinnegad 6
Downs 6 Downs 6 Downs 6
Lomans 4 shamrocks 5 Garrycastle 5
Shamrocks 4 lomans 4 lomans 4
Garrycastle 4 Garrycastle 3 shamrocks 3
Caulry 0 caulry 0. Caulry 0
Of course caulry could win tomorrow and then things become even more wild - Kinnegad 6, shamrocks or Garrycastle 5, Downs 4, lomans 4, shamrocks or Garrycastle 3, caulry 2 - if Caulry win and Sham/GC is a draw we end the day with one team on six, FOUR teams on four, and the bottom team on 2!
However it all pans out tomorrow, a win for Caulry over The Downs would mean they go into the final round against Lomans needing to win and depending on how things go in other games it could leave Lomans in bother... Defeat for Caulry tomorrow they are gone to Section B.
Shamrocks v Garrycastle tomorrow is huge for everyone. That game will let us know all the permutations for the final round then.
Section B and Intermediate in the next post...
