UPDATE from Martin Nevin, our ESF+ Social Innovation in Sport Officer
--
As the ESF+ Social Innovation in Sport Officer, I'm constantly amazed by the amount of work happening across our communities.
Sometimes, you don't fully realise how many programme, initiatives, and partnerships are in place until you sit down and talk about them.

It's a reminder that none of this work happens in isolation.
Programmes like Sport4Empowerment simply would not move forward without the collaboration, support, and commitment of partners such as the Westmeath Local Authority Integration Team (LAIT) and so many other local services and organisations. Working together allows us to create opportunities that genuinely make a difference in people's lives.

What stands out most is the impact of bringing people from diverse backgrounds together. Through sport and physical activity, communities connect, barriers are broken down, and a real sense of belonging begins to grow.

There is something incredibly rewarding about stepping back and watching people engage in physical activity, build new relationships, share experiences, and support one another. In those moments, you truly see the value of programmes like Sport4Empowerement Programme and the positive impact they have on individuals and communities alike.

A huge thank you to everyone who continues to collaborate, support, and champion inclusive sport and community development.
