Well done to 4th year student James O'M and our three 5th year students, Oisín, Oscar and Aran, who were involved with the Mullingar men’s hockey team in their fantastic win over Three Rock Rovers this past weekend.
Each of the boys got on the scoresheet in an impressive 7–1 victory for the club. Although it was the final game of the season, the boys are already looking ahead to next year.
They hope to see more students from the school will get involved in playing for both the school and the club.

Weekend Notes 🗒️

Both Men’s 1st’s and Ladies 1st’s were in action this weekend with both teams playing away from home.
Men’s 1st’s traveled to Naas for a 12pm tip off. Unfortunately for Mullingar, Naas came out on top with a 4-0 victory. Men’s 1st’s are now just one point off a relegation place so with two games left in the season it’s crucial that they pick up some points.

Ladies 1st’s traveled to Botanics for a 1pm tip off. Mullingar played some fantastic hockey and came back home with a 5-1 victory. The best thing about this victory was that Mullingar had five different goalscorer’s, Emma Harding, Louise Sharp, Rachel Goldsbury, Jara Dornbruch and Ruby Murray all getting on the scoresheet. Mullingar’s player of the match was Eleanor Mullingan who had a brilliant game and seems to be getting better and better each week. 💪

Weekend notes 🗒️

On Friday Mullingar Ladies Vets hosted Weston in a league match. The game ended in a 1-1 draw with Orla White grabbing the Mullingar goal. Mullingar were unlucky not to come away with all three points, they played some excellent hockey around the middle of the pitch but unfortunately they couldn’t convert the chances they were making.

On Saturday our Men’s 1st’s squad traveled to Dublin to take on Clontarf in a league match. Unfortunately Clontarf came out on top with a 4-3 victory. Marc Watters, Stephen Wiltshire and Stuart Waddell getting the Mullingar goals. Player of the match was Mullingar keeper Conor Dunne, Dunne pulled of some fantastic saves throughout the game.

On Saturday evening we held our ‘Musical Bingo’ in The Old Stand. The night was a fantastic success and the atmosphere was rocking. A massive well done to Katelyn Griffith, Orla White, Rachel Crowe and Judi Roulston Mooney on organising the event! Also once again The Old Stand looked after us extremely well on the night, a massive thank you Fergus and the rest of the staff in The Old Stand.
