In excess of €14k raised at 'Honour and Pride' for both organisations, Olympic BC Mullingar and Good2Talk. These funds will help to send a team of All-Ireland Boxing Champions from Olympic BC Mullingar to New York, next November to compete and will help Good2Talk to continue with the amazing help they provide through their Counselling and Psychotherapy Support Services on a daily basis to clients throughout the Midlands.

The organisers from Olympic Boxing Club Mullingar and Good2Talk would like to thank all the businesses listed below for their sponsorship, donations and support for each of the boxers, and to all other businesses and individuals who have given sponsorship, donations and raffle prizes. Finally we would like to thank all the boxers who have tested themselves both physically and mentally during a very challenging 8 week training period to prepare for the event last Friday night. Take a bow guys you have all been fantastic and a pleasure to work with. To everybody who purchased a ticket and was in attendance last Friday, we hope you enjoyed the experience and we thank you for your support. But the most important result that came out of last Friday night is the awareness raised for Good2Talk and if we, the organisers and the boxers, can have saved even one life, well it was a good nights work then👊.

Next bout to be introduced is Michael Connor v Andrew Nevin. This bout is an exhibition bout. Michael 'Hollywood' Connor came in as a late replacement only two weeks ago and then we lost a fighter this week due to injury and Michael was left without an opponent. Up steps Andrew Nevin, who agreed to give Michael an exhibition bout on the night. Michael is age 26 and lived in Castlepollard for 21 years, before moving to Raharney. He plays soccer for Raharney Utd and plays Centre Half and is known as the 'Wall'. He is sponsored by All-Ireland Scaffolding. Michael has always had an interest in Boxing and this was the perfect opportunity to get involved, while helping to raise awareness for mental health and Good2Talk. Andrew Nevin is a long-term boxer with Olympic BC Mullingar and is always a man willing to help out with coaching or any other club duties. Andrew is also a well-known and successful runner and is a member of Mullingar Harriers. Andrew is sponsored by David Smyth Catering.

"Bad Bood" --- Next bout to be introduced is Danny Hughes v Lukas Comaskey. Danny Hughes is a Proud Mullingar man and is 29 years of age and weighs in at 83kg. He is Sponsored by Paul Brunton Furniture. His reason for doing this was to stop glushing for 8 weeks, which he failed miserably at😂😂. However, he has found it to be a great experience though and the training was fantastic. Danny reckons his opponent is walking around at training like "the big lad" mainly because he has been training a little longer than everybody else, but Danny is curious if he can back it up on Friday night. In the opposite corner is Luke "Mufasa" Comaskey, age 21 and is from Granard, Co Longford. He is Sponsored by Donal Ledwith Plumbing and Heating. In his own words, he "can’t wait to get his hands on Danny and is going to hit him with some good sh*t".....These boys really dont like each other and they even refused to shake hands after this photo was taken, so this bout is going to be exciting, aggressive and this bout is called "Bad Blood". Granard boys has a reputation of been tough as nails, but as we all know, "Mullingar Boys Dont Stop", so who will have bragging rights on Friday night, lets wait and see?

Next bout to be introduced is Paul Rock v Davie McNamee aka Cowboys Davie. Paul "Chinky" Rock , representing Cullion and Sponsored by Micheal Ledwith Motors, weighing in at 79 kg and age 21. According to Paul, his prediction is that Cowboys Davie is getting 'Rocked' on the night, because its all in the name👊. In the opposite corner is Davie McNamee, who is from Mullingar and is Sponsored by Bricktop Tatoos and Barbers. Davie normally can be found spray painting walls and canvases, but this Friday night, he is planning to be painting the boxing ring canvas with blood.....hopefully not his own! These two boys have been doing a bit of trash talking thoughout, following in the footsteps of one Conor McGregor, but who will come out the real "Champ, Champ" on Friday night?
