Mullingar Open 2026 Canoe Polo Tournament is open for registration.

Date: 27th/28th June, 2026
*Closing Date for Entry: June 17th, 2026*

This is our 3rd Mullingar Open and teams from Division 1,2,3 are invited. State your division preference when entering.

Players may only play on one team. All players must be members of CI, CANI or ICF Federation.

Entry fee per team €150 payable below. International Teams are welcome to attend for free.

Registration for Club Champs (11/12 July) and Irish Open (22/23 August) will open soon.

Great day yesterday at the 2026 Canoe Polo Junior Blitz in Mullingar. Our first event to kick off the season. We had 90 children from around Ireland take part.

A big success this year was our Club Mix section with 30 new players from Monasterevin Blueway Kayaking Club, Mullingar Harbour Canoe Polo, Cavan Canoe Club and Kilcock Canoe Polo Club participating for their first time.

Well done to all who took part , competed and had fun.

A huge thank you to our Club Volunteers who organised and ran the event - you were once again amazing and to our players who looked after themselves for the day !

Our next tournament will be the Mullingar Open - a two day competition for all levels (Adult and Junior) on June 27th and 28th. Registration will open shortly.

We have over 90 young Canoe polo players coming to Mullingar Harbour today from around Ireland for our Mullingar Junior Canoe Polo Blitz.
Come along to the Canal between 10am and 4pm to see them in action playing Canoe Polo - a fast game like Basketball but played in Kayaks.

We are looking for players aged 9 to 12 who would like to join our growing club. So this is a good opportunity to come along and see what its all about.

We are starting a beginners group for Children aged 9 to 12 looking to take part in a fun, physical Team Sport. Canoe Polo is like Basketball but played in Kayaks. Our Club takes children with no Kayaking skills who love water and are keen to learn a team ball sport.

We have a 'Come and Try' day next this Monday 11th at 4pm at Mullingar Harbour - you must register in advance to take part. In the first instance please make contact by completing this expression of interest form.

Registration is open for our Junior Canoe Polo Blitz on Sunday May 10th at Mullingar Harbour. Open to players of all skill levels up to those turning 21 this year (aged 20 in 1st January, 2026).

Mullingar Harbour Canoe Polo is in Helmond!

Yesterday 50 Mullingar players and parents headed off to the Netherlands for the Helmond International Tournament - 100 teams from around Europe coming together for 3 days of World Class Polo.

Mullingar has 5 teams taking part in 4 different divisions and they have been having a great time.

Our Womens team performed brilliantly securing wins against Womens teams from Germany and Spain and also the Belgium U21W team putting them 2nd in their group. Tomorrow they play European Championship teams from Duisburg, Asigne and the Dutch U21 Womens team.

Our Mullingar 1 Mens team won against Penine A and Dutch team UKC1 with a narrow loss to the German National U18 team. All to play for tomorrow with the opportunity to come 2nd in their group.

Players on Mullingar 2 moved up from Divison 4 to Division 3 this year and had some great games today against German Dutch and GB teams, positioned 6th in their group.

Mullingar 3 and 4 are doing us proud in Division 4, with most of our players on those teams taking part in the tournament for their first time. Some wins and draws, and all to play for tomorrow. A great experience for players as young as 12.

We are Celebrating Women in Sport week with our Mullingar Womens team at the Amicizia Friendship tournament in Zurich. 14 Womens teams from around Europe taking part in this annual tournament and we are the first Irish team take part.

The organisation and atmosphere is really great at this competition. Mullingar off to a good start drawing their first match 4-4 against Swiss team TWF. Canoeing Ireland

Putting Mullingar Harbour Canoe Polo and Canoe Polo on the map !

Crouched down by the water’s edge with his camera pointed towards the action, Noel McIntyre knew he had captured something special.

It was a match between Cavan Canoe Club and Wildwater Kayak Club in the Irish Canoe Polo Club Championships, staged at the
Mullingar Harbour Canoe Polo (MHCP) Club.

McIntyre’s picture was awarded third place in the aquatic category of the 2026 World Sports Photography Awards.

This award-winning image was not only recognition of McIntyre’s work and Canoe Polo but for the club where the paddle sport discipline is played.
