NATIONAL CHAMPIONS !

*Mullingar are WOMENS and DIVISION 3 IRISH CLUB CHAMPIONS*

Last weekend we hosted the National Club Championships at Mullingar Harbour. 24 teams from all around Ireland taking part, with Mullingar taking Gold, Silver and Bronze across divisions.

Our young club was proud to have the highest number of Women players at the tournament, a testament to years of hard work by volunteers, coaches and of course players. Mullingar W1 took Bronze in the Mixed Division2 and Mullingar W2 placed fourth in Division 3 against all mixed/mens teams, a fantastic achievement, that set up for an all Mullingar Womens final, with W1 taking Gold and W2 Silver. Big thanks to visitors Polo Mints who were also outstanding in the open Division and placed 3rd in the Womens Division.

Our Mullingar3 boys team took Gold in Division 3 after a great final against a tough Kilkenny team.

Our Division 1 men's teams came 5th and 6th, in our first year to have two Division 1 teams, with most of our Mullingar 2 team competing in Division 1 for the first time. Good games against very experienced teams and close to making the semi-final, the future looks good.

Well done everyone who took part, all our Volunteers and Coaches who work with our players to develop them as team players.

Thanks to WTF Gig Guide Mullingar for visiting us for the National Club Championships which we hosted place at Mullingar Harbour at the weekend.

JOY DAVIS INTERNATIONAL - WINNERS !

Last weekend, we took part in the Joy Davis International Canoe Polo Tournament in Hull. Over 50 teams took part, Mullingar was well represented with 5 teams, we had a great time and came away with some trophies too.

This year we won Division 3 and Youth Divisions. A huge achievement for a young team that played really tough games all weekend. For most of these players this was their third year in Division 3 at the Joy Davis, every year getting better and better position before taking the win in a tough final against London East End team.

All our teams were brilliant, our Mullingar 1 team who won Division 2 last year moved up to the top division against some great sides coming 6th. Our Mullingar 2 team, who won Division 3 team moved up to Division 2 and came 10th. Our two Division 4 teams were also great, with many there for the first time, some very young players who came 7th and 12th in their division.

A huge thanks to Kingston Kayak Club for organising yet another great event and being so welcoming. This tournament has helped our club develop, every year progressing and pushing ourselves up the divisions. Thanks too to our volunteers who coached, looked after and fed everyone for the weekend.

Last weekend saw the Third Mullingar Open Tournament bring 22 teams from around Ireland to Mullingar. This is one of 5 major events our Club is organising this year, so a massive thanks to our parents and volunteers who do such work for the Polo community and head Referee Sean Downes.

Our Division 3 teams did brilliantly. An all-Mullingar final saw us taking Gold and Silver. Congrats to UCC who took the Bronze after some great games during the weekend. Special mention to our youngest team Mullingar 6 who took 8th place.

In Division 2, our young Mullingar 3 team progressed massively from last year, playing with class and taking Silver in a final against Pyranahs. Well done also to Cork Otters who took 3rd in the division.

In Div1, Mullingar 1 played a thriller final against division winner Demons that went to a second phase of Golden Goal - a close match that thrilled the crowd. Congrats to Kilcock Demons who took the win and also to WWKC who came third.
Mullingar 2, who won Div2 last year, moved up to Div 1 this year. A last minute goal ran the 5th/6th play-off to Golden goal and they took the 5th place in a tight game against Kamikaze.

This tournament had a number of Under 16 teams in Division 3. Some great games between these young players of varying age and experience. Kilcock took the Bronze with Mullingar capturing Silver and Gold.

Special award to Metalman Vikings for the 'Spirit of Polo' award - you were brilliant sports all weekend and a pleasure to have at the tournament on and off the water.

See you at the Club Championships on 11th & 12th July- when we do it all again.

This is our 3rd Mullingar Open and teams from Division 1,2,3 are invited. State your division preference when entering.

Players may only play on one team. All players must be members of CI, CANI or ICF Federation.

Entry fee per team €150 payable below. International Teams are welcome to attend for free.

Great day yesterday at the 2026 Canoe Polo Junior Blitz in Mullingar. Our first event to kick off the season. We had 90 children from around Ireland take part.

A big success this year was our Club Mix section with 30 new players from Monasterevin Blueway Kayaking Club, Mullingar Harbour Canoe Polo, Cavan Canoe Club and Kilcock Canoe Polo Club participating for their first time.

Well done to all who took part , competed and had fun.

A huge thank you to our Club Volunteers who organised and ran the event - you were once again amazing and to our players who looked after themselves for the day !

Our next tournament will be the Mullingar Open - a two day competition for all levels (Adult and Junior) on June 27th and 28th. Registration will open shortly.
