Calling all Female riders, our good friends & Jeep Mondello24 regulars Giant Store Dublin need your help!

Due to a late injury they are looking for 1 female to join their 4-rider all girls team for this weekend's sixth edition of the race.

This is an amazing opportunity to be a part of the Liv team and live like a Pro Cyclist for the weekend with Giant Store Dublin covering your entry and also supplying you with a bike for the occasion.

Are you up for the challenge or do you know a capable rider who can help the rest of the girls keep the dream alive of taking on the 24-hours.

Help us spread the word and show what the Irish women's cycling community can do.

Interested riders can DM us here or DM Adrian at the Giant Store Dublin.

It's race week and we've got a boot full of goodies in the Jeep Avenger today!!

For the sixth edition of Jeep Mondello24 we teamed up with KALAS Sportswear to give riders an opportunity to pre-order a unique jersey design. Today they arrived with us and they look stunning. Definitely going to be worth a couple of seconds advantage a lap over the 24-hours for those wearing one!!

24-hours in the saddle is thirsty work and thanks to our title sponsor Jeep, we also had a delivery of Mondello24 drinks bottles which every rider will receive on race morning.

Not only will they track your every lap over the race, our friends at Pop Up Races have once again produced this year's medal. One that is going to take a full 24-hour effort before you can proudly hang it around your neck, we love the design!

The excitement is really starting to build!! Only 5 more sleeps, but whose counting!!

BREAKING NEWS!

We are super excited to share the news that two of our multiple champions, Karen Cassidy and Cathal Dillane, will return for the sixth edition of Jeep Mondello24.

Karen needs no introduction as she was our inaugural Solo Female Champion winning the famous 'Winter Edition' in 2021. A year later she successfully defended her title with a new distance record that would stand until last year. Returning to the event in 2024 in a team manager role, she would proudly lead Galway Bay Cycling Club to victory in the 4-rider team category. That team becoming the first to break 900km!

Having witnessed her 2022 record being broken by Scottish rider Jill Sommervill last year as she managed Cathal and Ronan Burke to victory in the 2-rider category, that was all the motivation Karen needed to make a return to the saddle for 2026 for her third attempt.

Cathal will also return for a third time and this time he joins Karen in the ultimate test as he takes on the 24-hours in its purest form alongside more than 30 other riders in a solo attempt.

'It will take 2 days to do the 24-hours on that', the best reaction so far to the idea of taking on Jeep Mondello24 on the iconic folding city bike that is a Brompton Bicycle

Are you a Brompton owner or are you looking for an epic adventure as a damn good reason to become a Brompton owner, then we have an exciting proposition for you.

With our very own Mondello24 event manager OIsin tackling the recently on his newly acquired Brompton 1975, we are excited to team up with our title sponsor Jeep to create an all Brompton 'Team Jeep' to take on the 24 hours of racing around Mondello Park!!

One of the huge advantages of racing on the 3.5km motor racing track is that the closed circuit is the perfect setting for riders in it 'to compete' or 'just complete' to ride side by side. Stating the obvious here but obviously given our 16inch wheel choice 'Team Jeep' are most certainly in it for the second reason!!

The criteria for being considered for selection for 'Team Jeep' (potentially two teams if we get enough similarly minded riders) is simple - you own a Brompton or have a work college you could borrow one off for "a little weekend spin', that you have a good sense of humour and are up for a bit of craic. Not having Tour de France ambitions will also be in your favour!

If this is you and something you think you'd like to spend the weekend of June 20/21 doing then send us a DM and we'll be in touch.

If you would like to stick to a more convention road bike and tackle Jeep Mondello24 check out how you can do it as a team of 2, 4 or 8 riders via via link in comments below 🔗⬇

Day & Night, Dry & Wet - the second of our three official practice evenings presented all condition types for the many Jeep Mondello24 rookies who joined us over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Welcoming many riders for their first ever laps of Mondello Park, even a heavy downpour presented opportunities to gather useful information while taking shelter in the pit garages. Experienced riders shared their knowledge and advise to those who will get their first full 24-hour experience on June 20/21.

Making the trip all the way from Cork, Gerard Vowles, Amy Roche, Nino Tighe, Mary Vowles, and Anthony Patterson, will form part of a combined multi team effort from Blackwater Triathlon Club and Mallow Tri Club. We also had riders from Women's Cycling Ulster, Vélo Club Balrothery - VCB, Beacon Hospital, Giant Store Dublin, the Cycling Ireland Para-cycling team, Tullamore Cycling & Touring Club, and many more join us for laps on the night.

Clonard Road Club riders Peter Cody and Andrew Owens would be the last two men standing taking us all the way to midnight and clocking up 90km each for the evening!

With registration closing at midnight on June 3rd, get the full lowdown now on how you too can also be on the grid for Jeep Mondello24 as a team of 4 or 8 riders via link in comments 🔗⬇
