Limerick invitational recap....

On Saturday Kildare county darts sent 3 teams (2 mens & 1 womens) down to the longcourt hotel on Limerick to take part in the 2026 limerick invitational.

Two tough groups for both men's teams where we saw 7 players make their county debuts.

Both teams showed plenty of fight and desire but ultimately double trouble haunted them for the day at crucial times but they'll learn a lot from it heading in the Leinsters and inter-counties in 2027..

The day certainly belonged to our ladies team who in their first outing in many years and also featured 5 ladies competing for the first time alongside county stalwarts. They won all 3 of their group games despite waiting almost 4 hours between their first and second games. They topped their group and went onto the last 8 of the cup where, They narrowly lost out to a good mayo side.

A fantastic day out and massive well done to Limerick for hosting a great tournament we'll definitely be back next year.

We move onto the Kildare Masters on the 24th October in at St Kevins GAA open to everyone.

Well that's a wrap on the first Kildare Ladies Open and what a day....

20 ladies competing to be crowned the first Kildare ladies open champion and we had great darts, great laughs and even a dance move or two,😁

In our consolation shield final we saw svetlana Zavodchikova beat Claire Rafter in a great game.

Onto our ladies open and it was two of Kildare finest in the final Sharon o Brien vs Susan Gill...Sharon won a great first leg before Susan showed here class with a 90 c/o to clinch 2nd and send us to a last leg decider where doubles deserted the ladies a little before Susan slinched the win and the inaugural ladies open crown.

We hope everyone enjoyed the day, we certainly did.

Massive thanks to The Town House Hotel for once again looking after us.

Massive thanks to Jonny Meenehan & Jan Meenehan for not only sponsoring the wonderful trophies but for setting up the venue.

Thanks to Pauline Butler for helping out running the Event.

Thanks to our youth players Keelan Haughan, Lee Meenehan and Eoghan Butler for helping Mark games .
