Laois Inclusion Games 2026 💙

What a fantastic event, filled with wonderful people and lots of different activities for everyone to try! 💪😊

The tennis try-out section was in full swing 🎾🔥 It was an absolute honour to coach at this fabulous event — once again, thanks to Tennis Ireland for the opportunity — and to meet so many inspiring people.

I also spotted some very talented young athletes — Lucy, Alexander, Becky, Tommy Oscar, Eli and Harry, as well as two James’s, including one brilliant blind/VI player! 🤩🎾👏

It was lovely to see so many familiar faces again, and a huge thank you to , , and all the volunteers for their fantastic help 🥰

We kicked off our first AIC class with plenty of energy, fun, and lots of hitting! 🙌

🎾 A fun ball-chasing warm-up to practise finding the ideal contact distance on the forehand
🎾 Cone-catching and drop-hit exercises
🎾 High-energy drills with lots of ball hitting
🎾 Finished off with some fun and competitive games

☀️🎾 Beautiful weather for tennis, lovely courts, and fantastic facilities! 🎾🔥💪

Athy TC really has everything and more!

Friday was the YMsports2026 official coaching day, with three very enjoyable private and semi-private sessions. 💪💪

We worked on:
🎾 A lovely couple – backhand technique and court positioning
🎾 Aunt & niece doubles training for upcoming open events
🎾 Stroke technique and footwork in a private group lesson

It’s brilliant to see everyone working hard, improving, and enjoying their tennis. 😊🎾

Next week we’re kicking off our brand new ABC (Athy Beginner Cardio) and AIC (Athy Intermediate Cardio) classes at Athy Tennis Club! 🎉🔥

We’re really looking forward to seeing everyone on court and making the most of this fantastic weather while it lasts! ☀️🎾😊

What an incredible day out in the sunshine! ☀️🎾

Shankill Tennis Club played host to the Tennis Ireland Inclusion Games, bringing together wheelchair, para-standing, visually impaired, and able-bodied athletes for a fantastic celebration of tennis.

I felt genuinely privileged to be part of such an inspiring event. ❤️

Organised by Liam O’Donohoe, founder of Enjoy Tennis, the event brought together participants from all walks of life, united by a shared love of the game.

It was also lovely to see some familiar faces— Lila, an incredibly talented junior player from Naas LTC, and Ari and Jonathan, two fantastic VI players from Shankill TC. 😊

A big shout-out to Liam, Gill, and the Tennis Ireland team for organising such an amazing event.

And last but definitely not least… Pete! 😂 Thank you for introducing me to the amazing world of VI tennis, believing in me from day one, and never letting me settle for “good enough.” Thanks for constantly pushing me to improve—even if you do seem to enjoy making my life difficult sometimes! 🤣🎾 Pete Lowther
