Women's Match Report
Campile Utd 6 New Ross Celtic 4
Our Ladies made the trip to Duncannon this morning too take on campile in league .
A slow start saw the Celtic girls down 3 nil inside 22 minutes . Celtic got one back in the 26th through a Karolina free , however found themselves 4-1 down after 30mins . Celtic started to create some chances unlucky not to score again before the break hitting the bar and shaving the post on a couple of occasions. 4-1 at the break
Celtic started the second half the brighter putting campile under severe pressure. They were rewarded for it in the 54th when Karolina was brought down in the penalty area , dispatching the penalty coolly to the net . Celtic kept on the pressure and were the better team at this stage . Some great team work down the right with the ball coming to Karolina who slid Jenny through to score in the 68th . 6mins later Campile extended their lead to make it 5-3 . The never give up Celtic attitude came to the fore again with Karolina finding the net in the 86th whipping a free to the top cornor . As Celtic pushed for the equaliser a block clearence found its way to a campile player to put the game to bed in stoppage time . Another gutsey performence from our girls today just coming out on the wrong side . We'll regroup and go again . Well done girls ❤️🤍
