𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐬

𝐖𝐞𝐱𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬

Following DJ Dempsey's win in the Men's Novice race last week, James Boland claimed the County Intermediate title in Coolgreaney with a dominant performance. John Hickey followed him home to take silver, adding another runner-up finish to his second place in the Novice race last week.

The eight-lap course was hilly and challenging, but conditions underfoot were reasonable. Both men handled the tough circuit well to secure a great result for the club.

Congratulations to hosts Croghan AC, who took home the Billy Cashin Cup after winning the Men's Team competition. The cup was presented to the winning team by Eugene and Bernie Cashin.

𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐬 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐮𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞

Waterford's Solas Cancer Support Centre organised two 10K Run and Walk events this weekend, in Dungarvan on Saturday and Waterford on Sunday. Several Striders made the trip to support this very worthy cause.

We had a fantastic turnout last Sunday at the Wexford Athletics Championships. 42 of our young aspiring athletes took to the grass at the JF Kennedy Park, on a beautiful course hosted by us.

A massive thanks to the athletes, parents, coaches and all of the helpers on the day. A special thanks to the OPW and the staff at the JF Kennedy Park for facilitating us. Much appreciated.

🥉 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘇𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗹 - 𝗟𝗲𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

Daniel Redmond took an impressive bronze at the combined event last Wednesday. It was a tight competition with points across the day, with 21 competitors in the Senior Boys U18.

Daniel finished with 3,434 points, only 90 points between him and 4th! It was a nail biting final event of 800m to keep the medal position!

Daniel represented the Good Counsel New Ross.

A brilliant week for Daniel, with the announcement of Daniel as the Wexford Athletics "June Athlete of the Month" only days earlier. 👏👏👏

We’re delighted to see our own Daniel Redmond recognised as Wexford Athletics Athlete of the Month for June.

Daniel has been putting in some fantastic performances, and it’s great to see his hard work and talent recognised with this award 👏.

𝐀𝐭𝐡𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 – 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

Congratulations to Daniel Redmond, our Athlete of the Month for June.

Representing Leinster at the Tailteann Games Inter-Provincial Championships, Daniel produced a superb performance in the Inter Boys’ Long Jump, jumping a massive personal best of 6.68m to take gold.

The outstanding jump also earned Daniel selection to represent Ireland at the SIAB Internationals in July, where he competed against teams from England, Scotland and Wales.

A fantastic achievement for Daniel and a well-deserved recognition of his performance.
