🎨 Could you be our next Artist of the Curragh?

The Curragh is delighted to launch the 2026-2027 Artist of the Curragh Competition, open to artists from across County Kildare.

Five finalists will be selected and invited to The Curragh on Goffs Millions Race Day, Saturday 26 September, to capture their own interpretation of a Curragh race day scene. 🏇🎨

🏆 The overall winner will receive a €1,500 commission, with their finished artwork proudly displayed at The Curragh throughout 2027.

🌧️ There was rain… and then there were tears of joy at the Curragh on Saturday. 💚🏇What a moment as Nina Carberry made a triumphant return to the saddle, steering Ndaawi, trained by Gordon Elliott, to victory in the Pat Smullen Cancer Trials Ireland Charity Race, supported by Ballylinch Stud.
It was truly special to welcome Nina back to winning ways - and even more so for such an important cause and in front of her two daughters who had never seen Mum race. ❤️
All 19 riders gave it their all, both in the saddle and through their incredible fundraising efforts for Cancer Trials Ireland. An unforgettable display of courage, generosity and racing spirit. 👏

🏇 Three Group 3 contests also produced three exciting winners on the day:
🥇 Sea of Rain under Colin Keane was not for passing in the Newtownanner Stud Irish EBF Stakes. A first Group success at the Curragh for Jim Bolger since 2021.
🥇 Push The Boat Out and Seamie Heffernan landed the Heider Family Stables Round Tower Stakes for trainer Michael O’Callaghan.
🥇 Miss Scott guided by Christophe Soumillon landed the Snow Fairy Fillies Stakes for trainers John & Thady Gosden.

🏆 Loughrea continued his unbeaten run in style, landing a hat-trick of handicap victories with a comfortable success in the feature race, the Tote Irish Cambridgeshire for father-and-son team Andrew and Andy Slattery. 🎩👏
