Mariners π΅βͺοΈ 3 - 2 Fintown Harps π΅π‘
The Mariners welcomed Fintown Harps to the Flagpole Field for an exciting game of football. The Mariners struck first with Eoin Roulston converting from the spot to open the scoring. Fintown responded well however, scoring on the brink of half time to send the teams in all square at the break.
The Mariners again started best and were creating chances when Brandon Wilkie scored to restore Marinersβ one goal lead. Not long after, Luke Friel also scored to put the Mariners 3-1 up with 20 minutes to go. Fintown did respond well and looked for a way back into the game, which they had when a Fintown forward scored a header at the back post. This set up an exciting final few minutes as Fintown looked for the equaliser, but the Mariner back line was able to keep them at bay and the game ended 3-2 to the Mariners.
Goalscorers:
Eoin Roulston
Brandon Wilkie
Luke Friel
