Quilter Insulation Div 2 County League Final
Rathmore 6-15 Currow 2-5
Rathmore put in an outstanding display against a very spirited Currow at Cordal on Wednesday evening.
Rathmore started brightly with a fi**ed point from Grace O Keeffe but Currow took over,and with the aid of a strong breeze, they put Rathmore under serious pressure and led by 1-2 to 0-02 after 12 minutes.
Some resolute defending by Eabhla Murphy,Ava Knee and the outstanding Doireann o Leary kept Currow from adding to their tally, and the defence as a unit put fierce pressure on the Currow attack to give Rathmore a platform to move the ball up the field.
With Eabha Moynihan tagging on 3 more frees to keep Rathmore noses in front, up stepped Clodagh o Connor to score 2 quick fire goals, the 2nd was a bullet to the top corner from the 21m line.
The half ended with the ever reliable and hard working Emer Rahilly finishing to the Currow net after some great link play from Eimerar Dennehy and Aisling Fenton.

Currow faced a stiff breeze in the 2nd half but they started with great intent, but again some outstanding defending by Rachel Moboligi and Danielle Buckley and Ava Knee turned over Currow in every attack, and with Sinead Hurley rampaging forward from the back,she finished a super team score to extend the lead after some great inter play with Caoimhe Corkery.
Again the Rathmore forwards worked tirelessly out of possession, and forced the Currow defenders into mistakes leading to points from Megan Murphy, Clodagh o Connor and Eabha Moynihan.
Rathmore put together some great moves, and with the support play for each player being particularly impressive , Rathmore finished with goals from Ruby Moynihan x2,Eabha Moynihan and Clodagh o Connor to round off her hat trick.
Currow tried bravely to stay in the game and found the net late on from Eibhlin Mccarthy despite a great save from Eve Cleverley.
Seamus Mulvihill blew the final whistle to the delight of the Rathmore supporters.
