💛💙 PROUD OF OUR U14 GIRLS 💙💛

Our U14 girls’ season came to an end yesterday evening when they lost out to a good Clann na nGael side in a thrilling Division 1 semi-final.

Captained by Mia Fallon, the girls put in a tremendous shift from start to finish, battling right to the final whistle in a hugely entertaining game.

While it wasn’t to be on the evening, we are extremely proud of this group of girls and of our small club. They have had an excellent season, showing great determination, commitment and improvement throughout the year.

This is a very talented group of young players who have represented St. Ciaran’s brilliantly all season, and they have a very bright future ahead of them. 💛💙

A huge well done to every player on the panel and to their management team for all their hard work and commitment throughout the season.

We wish Clann na nGael the very best of luck in the Division 1 Final.

💛💙 DIVISION 1 QUARTER FINAL💙💛

Congratulations to our U14 girls, who have qualified for the Division 1 Semi-Final following a thrilling encounter away to Kilglass/Kilmore earlier this evening. 👏

Captained by Alimay Doolan, the girls got off to a slow start and found themselves on the back foot as they worked to get a handle on a very strong Kilglass/Kilmore side.

After an uncertain opening 20 minutes, St. Ciaran’s really began to find their rhythm. The girls turned things around with a superb finish to the first half, heading into the break with a two-point lead:

Kilglass/Kilmore opened the scoring in the second half, setting the tone for an incredibly tight nip-and-tuck battle right to the final whistle.

Our defence came under relentless pressure, with Kilglass/Kilmore creating numerous goal threats. A Player of the Match performance from goalkeeper Keeva Glennon, combined with some outstanding and courageous defending, denied the home side on numerous occasions. 🧤👏

Strong performances from our midfield duo, trojan work and some lovely scores from our forwards, along with valuable contributions from the bench, proved crucial as the girls dug deep and showed tremendous determination to secure a hard-fought victory against excellent opposition.
