Weight fluctuations

It’ll go up and it’ll go down…many, many, many times during the day/week/month…

For frame of reference;
I woke up Wednesday morning at 83.6kg.
That night, after a day on my feet at work, a gym session and a thai boxing session I came in at 80.2kg.
The next morning after 83.5 kg.
That evening(having had the majority of my calories in a 6ish hour window) I was 87kg.
And I’m Sitting pretty back around 83.5 now.

Food intake/hydration/activity level/stress/menstrual cycle(big time)/digestive issues 💩among a heap of other factors all influence your weight so don’t stress out if you fluctuate here and there.

Address any issues that arise, stick to the plan laid out and you’ll be👌🏻😎

The first week of the new year is in the books, congrats to everyone that has started their journey or gotten back to routine!
To those still hesitant or perhaps procrastinating getting the ball rolling, don’t stress, don’t feel guilty and don’t beat yourself up.
The hardest part is showing up, it can be daunting walking into a new environment with a feeling of uncertainty as to what you should be doing.
But if you continue to show up, that alone is immeasurably better than doing nothing at all.
Have a goal, make a plan to get there or invest in someone you have confidence in to to help you get there.

Be consistent, acknowledge all of the small victories along the way, push passed the set backs and enjoy the process!

Best of luck to everyone, here’s to a great year ahead 💪🏻

Do you know the desired outcome for each workout and how and how you need to perform it?
Do you know the adaptation you’re striving for during each session, know when to kick it up a gear and when to pull back?
Each set
Each session
Each block
Each training cycle
There’s a reason behind every part and knowing how you should be performing each of them will pay a great return both long and short term.

If your desired outcome is to run a marathon you wouldn’t try to sprint full pace from the get go each session, you would build capacity and endurance over time.

The same principle of training with Intention applies across the board regardless of the goal, improve breathing, stride etc

Training from home 🏡 🏋🏻‍♀️💪🏻

Over lockdown, there was a large increase in people taking control over their health which is a great silver lining to a less than desirable situation and has lead to a lot more people exercising💪🏻💪🏻

Although gyms are back open now, there are a lot of people that continue to train from home and this post is for you and will show you how to design and implement effective training programs without having to leave the shire 😘

Adding Tissue 💪🏻💪🏻
When bulking, a lot of people tend to think you just need more calories(which is true to an extent) but the makeup of these foods are also a priority.
We want nutrient dense foods that will give us energy, digest easily and not leave us lethargic.
Adding on 1200cals off the bat will put you on the fast track to gaining a heap of unwanted fat. 10-15% above maintenance is a good place to start. From here, monitoring your weight and energy balance will aid in choosing when to increase calories further.

Adding tissue is a far slower process than reducing it and should be treated with the patience required.

Training for your ⛳️ ⚽️ 🏈
Is training to improve performance different than training for aesthetic purposes?

Getting stronger, adding lean tissue sound pretty useful for most sports but when you get into the finer details, it becomes apparent that each sport requires different training adaptations. For example, let’s do a short comparison between a football and jiu jitsu player:
Grip strength and mobility(specifically being stronger in composing positions) will be far more apparent for the jiu jitsu player while sprint speed and vertical jump are a necessity for the footballer.
Both require endurance but the active and rest times are completely different and will involve working different energy systems.

Specificity is crucial and knowing the demands of your sport will seperate YOU from the rest by bring out your full potential.
