Bhí an farraige ann chúin amuigh ar oileain Naomh Pádraig inné. Very calm sea yesterday out at St Patricks island. Great for a row with Dan and Niall who joined as try outs. Had a situation where Spleodar got a nick on the rocks requiring a rooftec repair on the island. All good with the repair and happy rowers for getting out some for first time. Photos show 3 boats Elana Meadhbh and Spleodar with 3 in it. Always pays to have the gear to do repairs!

I Cumann Curach Átha Cliath/ East Wall Currachs inniú le na rásaí níos deireadhnach an bhliain seo linn. In East Wall today for the last races of this year for us.
Great fun and games with lots of mishaps with oars flipping into the sea, crunches at the bouy and great company from Dublin , Clare, Donegal and Down.
Seamus, Davide, Aonghus and myself were down for Skerries. Our sole medals (which was the last race, as an hata) we scored silver with Gerry Jones of Carlingford Lough Currach Club - CLCC with Aonghus Lynch and myself Shane after a tight final . Super day with conditions like glass first thing and a bit choppy late this afternoon. Thanks to all the crew at East Wall making it a great day out.

Ag deanamh rac nua aréir. Making a new rack yesterday evening. After recycling jump poles from a garden swing these were prepared in my workshop before bringing to our compound on the seafront in Skerries. I was helped by clubmate Steve Slu who was in the right place at right time roped in to lend a hand. This is our 5th double decker rack. This will house a pair of 2 handers so is smaller than others we did for bigger boats. racks.

Trí báid amach go dtí na hoileáin anocht. Three boats out to the islands tonight. Much more wind than we bargained for after we left the harbour. Wind over tide gave some swell getting most of us wet from wind driven spray. Out at Church island we loaded up more rubbish and ropes to bring back to shore. Lots of left strokes on out and right on way home. Happy all went well.

Maith sibh Anca Cormac agus Seamus amach timpeall Reamhrainn inniú.
Well done Anca Cormac and Seamus out around Lambay today in the hosted by Fingal Rowing Club in Spleodar a Clare style 3 hand currach . 19km course completed in just under 2hrs 30mins.
Tough crew, Great job medalling 1st in the open category of which this was the only currach.

Slí ár Sinsear video. Our Voyage of Ancestors to Scotland on Sun 2rd Aug was edited by Seamus from ourcclub. This is his edit of the trip. Some from our boat and some from the rib of Safer Waters from Bangor. Trip completed in just under 6hrs 15mins. in An Béal Deirg ourNorth Mayo Salmon fishing Currach and the only operational one left . We wanted to do this as a challenge and as a nod to ancestors who might have crossed the North Channel in skin boats many thousands of years ago back to the Fir Bolg or the Tuaithe de Dannan. Thanks Seamus for your edit.

The Mens Trebbles Finals Carlingford Lough Currach Club Irish International Currach Championships.2026 yesterday. Lane 1 on RHS had O Domhnaill Bros Cumann Na GCurach Lane 2 was Shane Holland, DominicGilmore and AonghusLynch of Currachaí na Sceirí who came in second and Stephen O Brien Clare John Mitchell Cork and Conor Walsh scored Bronze. Gerry John and Conor of Carlingford Lough Currach Club - CLCC came 4th. First video is the practice thanks Jude for the directions.
