If you’re working toward a goal, stop over complicating it. Build habits, become consistent, get organised.

This one always blows my mind and such a great reminder of what we can achieve 💖

In 2019, when my daughter was 10 months old I completed the Women’s Try a Tri with Sligo Triathlon Club and 5 years to the day, on the 6th October 2024, I completed my first Ironman 💪

Ironman Barcelona was quite possibly one of the best week’s I’ve ever experienced, in great company and fulfilling a huge dream.

A dream that seemed so far fetched and way out of reach the day I crossed that first Try a Tri finish line, with no idea where it would lead 😅

But that’s the thing about big goals. You don’t get there in one leap. You get there one swim, one spin, one run, one early alarm at a time. Some sessions felt amazing, plenty felt awful and loads of days I wanted to skip it altogether. But every small step added up.

So if you’re sitting there thinking your goal is too big, too far away, or “not for someone like me,” I promise you it’s not. Start where you are, with what you have. Future you will be so glad you did 💜

Today marks 2 years since that finish line and 7 since the one where it all started. Here’s to the next dream ✨

Facebook memories really are wild! This one popped up over the weekend, and it got me chatting to a friend about the journey from A to B. It really does take time. There are about 10 years between these two photos, they’re two completely different people.

The girl on top was running on oat lattes, carbs and booze, with no exercise and the stress of running a café and managing staff. So much of what filled her days just wasn’t doing her any good.

Fast forward 10 years and so much has changed. I still love an oat latte (but it’s one a day now, not four!).

These days my life is built on habits that support my health, both physical and mental:
💪 A diet that fuels me and my performance
🍷 Very little alcohol
😴 Sleep like my life depends on it (it does!)
❤️ Healthy relationships
🛡️ Boundaries that protect my time and energy

None of it happened overnight. It was small changes, stacked up over years. If you’re at the start of your own A to B, be patient with yourself. You’ll get there.

I used to get bullied in school for having big shoulders

So naturally…. I made them bigger 💅🏼

Funny how the things you were once made to feel self-conscious about become the things you’re most proud of 💪

They’re not just big now, they’re strong and I worked bloody hard for them

So here’s to taking up space and building the body YOU want 🖤

Eat, Sleep, Train, Repeat 🤩

Grateful to be able to challenge myself and train hard every day. Eating to fuel performance has become a huge focus this year. It’s really paying off between lifting heavier and feeling stronger which is transferring to performance on the bike, in my runs and back in the pool.

The biggest standout for me is consistency. It hasn’t been one meal or one session. It’s doing things on repeat. Eating the same meals, showing up to train when I could find a million excuses not to and ticking the boxes… solid sleep, fuel, water, recovery and time outside 💖
