Surf lessons in Strandhill with 3 x Irish champion Seamus Mc Goldrick at the National Surf Centre.

Find out why our surf school in Strandhill is #1 on Trip Advisor for 2.5 hour surf lessons. Seamus Mc Goldrick is a local surf coach, professional bodyboarder and an Irish surfing pioneer. This locally run surf school has experienced Irish Surfing instructors who patiently guide you through the ABCs of surfing at Strandhill beach. We make surfing easy and accessible by creating a fun, safe learning environment regardless of age or ability. We also teach bodyboarding, the quickest and easiest way to catch the wave of your life in Sligo. All our surf experiences are suitable for beginners but we also love coaching intermediate surfers. We have a great range of beginner and intermediate surfing and bodyboarding equipment and your thick 5 mm Tiki wetsuits will keep you super warm as you step off the edge of Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way at Strandhill beach. Meet us at the designated surf school zone at the main car park in Strandhill.

World Champion bodyboarder Amaury Lavernhe just released a crazy YouTube clip from his solo mission to Ireland. He came a stayed with me and the next morning Moz got to surf Mullaghmore for the first time. He described the wave as another level.

That morning when we paddled out, a wave came in and I told Moz to go, go, go. He caught the wave and paddled back out to me and told me, 'That was the fastest I have ever gone on a bodyboard'!

Check out the clip he made of his trip by searching

Normally, I would simply add the link to this Facebook post as usual. Like I have done for the last ten years. However, unexpectedly, Facebook has started trying to charge me, via a Meta One account, for adding links to posts.

This is an annoying development, as I mainly use my page to share relevant content with people interested in the surf school. But poor old Mark Zuckerberg must be hard up for cash these days, and has figured out a way to fix. Stay tuned and lets see how things develop.

Long story short, take it from me that Moz was killing it at Mullaghmore last year.

Let me introduce myself.

Delighted to chat to Carl and Aisling this morning on 2FM all about my new book, Waking Maeve. A literary excavation of Sligo’s landscape, myth and history. The Breakfast Show was broadcasting live from Queen Maeve Square, beside the Garavogue or An Gharbóg, the rough gritty one, a personification of the Cailleach, associate with so many megalithic sites around Sligo.

Queen Maeve Square in the centre of town is a place for festivals and concerts to honour the spirits of Queen Maeve and the Garavogue. 2FM along with Failte Ireland were in town this morning to highlight what a great place Sligo is for a short break.
