The C curve, harder than it looks but an integral component of many of the Pilates exercises.
Spine stretch on the mat is a great beginners exercise to develop a lifted C curve.

You are looking to:

✅Sit up tall & balanced on both sitz bones
✅have flexed feet, heels reaching away from the scoop of the belly
✅activate your seat
✅use strong legs pressing down into the mat (your tree roots to lift out of)
✅ lift your spine
✅ develop an equal curve of the spine

Open up those stiff, tight lower backs and make your spine ☺️

Booking a private session allows you full access to the classical apparatus available in the studio.
Joseph Pilates invented apparatuses with springs to stretch and strengthen the muscles of the body. The resistance of the springs changes depending on the apparatus and the exercise. Heavier springs however does not necessarily mean harder work. Sometimes, the lighter the spring the more powerhouse that is required.
The main objective is learning how to control your body by learning how to control the springs. That's why Pilates called his system of exercises Contrology!

November schedule is OPEN 🤩🙌
If you are looking for something new to do this winter, why not give Pilates a go? There are beginners mat classes on Tuesdays & Thursdays at various times. If you have something specific you would like to work on, book in for a private session and make use of the full apparatus within the studio to get you moving & feeling better. Remember, adding a Pilates class into your regular exercise routine helps to prevent injury, strengthens muscles & improves imbalances in the body. What's not to ♥️
