🪩 The Inaugural Twinning Cup is a Success! 🇫🇷🇮🇪

We are thrilled to share that the inaugural Twinning Cup was an absolute triumph! Our mission between Tipperary Town & Country Pétanque/Boules Club. and Billy at Cavan Pétanque was to rejuvenate the town twinning concept through a shared identity and passion: the wonderful sport of Pétanque.

Bringing together two Irish clubs and their French twin towns, the weekend was a brilliant celebration of community and connection. The atmosphere was jovial and deeply friendly, and our hosts in Parthenay were wonderfully hospitable—laying on incredible food, refreshments, and plenty of good old-fashioned banter.

Communication was an adventure all on its own! While some of us spoke a little French and some of them a little English, others found common ground in Spanish, while the rest relied on expressive gestures and lots of laughter. Somehow, we muddled along and understood each other completely!
The aim of the weekend was to breathe new life into our friendship through Pétanque, and we succeeded beyond measure. We already look forward to welcoming our French brethren to Tipperary in 2027!

🙏 Heartfelt Thanks
A massive, warm thank you to everyone who made this possible:
* Monsieur -Michel Prieur Mayor of Parthenay
* Monsieur Yoann Grellier President of the Twinning Committee Comité de jumelage de Parthenay
* Madame Roseau, President Jaunay-Marigny
* Bernard, Club President, Parthenay.

Vive l'amitié! 🥂🪩

The Munster InterClub Pétanque competition was held in Clashmore/Kinsalebeg Pétanque Club last Sunday, September 13th. Tipperary Town & Country Pétanque/Boules was defeated early on by Rebelspetanque Cork but we were delighted like they fought on to be victorious and lifft the coveted claret jug, with Waterford Petanque Club in 2nd place. Great venue, great folks and great Pétanque. A big thank you to the organisers.
