Behind the Scenes at Puckane & District Tennis Club!

There’s always plenty happening behind the scenes to keep our club moving forward!
We’re delighted to share that, through funding provided by the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht , the club has recently received support towards essential items including a printer, laptop, paint and maintenance supplies — right down to a new wheelbarrow! 🖨️💻🎨🛠️

These resources help our Main Committee continue working away in the background, supporting the upkeep of our facilities, improving how the club operates and ensuring we can continue to provide a welcoming environment for all our members.
A huge amount of work goes on behind the scenes that isn’t always visible on court, and securing grants like these is an important part of keeping our club developing and moving in the right direction.
A big thank you to the Department for this support and to everyone who gives their time and effort to help our club thrive.🙌

🎾🏆 Eddie Kelly Cup Finals Day 2026 🏆🎾
What an incredible week of tennis!
We had great rallies, super support, reasonable weather and plenty of good vibes around the courts all week and on Finals Day.
Both finals went all the way to 3 sets, making for two exciting and closely fought matches right to the very end!

🏆 Section A Winners: Karl Horan & Tricia Healy
🥈 Runners Up: Kevin Dooley & Lisa Pardy

🏆 Section B Winners: Will Girard & Helen Quinn
🥈 Runners Up: Graham Finch & Emma Sheehan
A huge congratulations to all our finalists — and to everyone who took part in making the Eddie Kelly Cup, yet again, a brilliant week of tennis! Thanks to Ned Kelly for attending and presenting the cup to our winners.
....🍻 And then it was on to McGrath’s Pub!
To round off the week-long competition, we held a very successful Table Quiz with a fantastic turnout.
We hope It wasn’t too tough… but With no phones to come to the rescue, a few questions definitely had teams scratching their heads! But that’s the whole point — no Googling, just good old-fashioned teamwork and a bit of luck 😉😉😂🤭
A massive thank you to everyone who came out on the night to support the club. Your support means a lot and helped make it such a great night.
Thank you to Niall McGrath for kindly providing the finger food.

🎤 And a big thank you to our MC, Nickey Flannery, who did a fantastic job keeping the questions flowing and the night moving along.
Until next year...🎾💞
