Arnas Blinstrubas Will be joining us from March 20th to April 11th.
In Japanese tattooing (Irezumi), the samurai is one of the most powerful and enduring symbols, representing the Bushido (Way of the Warrior) code. It primarily signifies honor, loyalty, and discipline.
Honor (Meiyo): The most critical virtue; a samurai tattoo often represents a commitment to living with integrity and maintaining one’s reputation even under pressure.
Courage (Yū): Reflects physical bravery and the moral strength to do what is right despite fear.
Loyalty (Chūgi): Traditionally unwavering devotion to a lord, in modern tattoos this often symbolizes loyalty to family, friends, or personal principles.
Discipline and Self-Control: Mastery over one’s own mind, body, and emotions.
Acceptance of Mortality: Because samurai were taught that every day could be their last, the tattoo can serve as a reminder of the transience of life.
