Silver in Scotland 🇮🇪🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Congratulations to Ciara Rohan who today won silver 🥈 in the u18 800m final of the Scottish National Championships. A very close fight up the home straight saw Ciara finish 2nd in a PB time of 2.13.36. The race was won by Freya Bateman of Belgooly AC in 2.13.04 who was the other Irish u18 development on the trip. So a very close affair. Ciara had earlier in the day won her heat in 2.23.31 so a great days racing from Ciara after a long journey travelling over to Aberdeen yesterday by bus 🚌 and boat 🚤!

Today’s races were Ciara’s 3rd and 4th competitive 800m races in the last 3 years - all ran this year, Ciara having focused mainly on the 1500m. Ciara is showing huge potential in the 800m and we look forward to seeing what 2027 can bring!

U18 Development trip to Scotland - Ciara Rohan selected 🇮🇪 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Big congratulations to Ciara Rohan on her selection by Athletics Ireland for the U18 development trip to Scotland next weekend . Ciara will travel to Aberdeen to compete in the u18 Scottish National Track and Field Championships where she will run in the 800m. Ciara was selected after a fantastic performance in the National Juvenile Championship 800m where Ciara took the win and was National Champion 🥇.

A fantastic conclusion to a super year on the track for Ciara.

This will be Ciara’s 4th Irish Vest 🇮🇪 and we wish her the best of luck. Enjoy the trip Ciara, amazing achievement.

National Masters Championships

Congratulations to Tom O’Brien at the National Masters Championships in Dublin this weekend.

On Friday evening Tom won the M55 High Jump , clearing 1.50m.

Saturday’s Long Jump, was Gold medal position also in a new National record for this age group of 5.37m

Brilliant performance from Tom.

Well done to David, final team confirmed.
