St Cronans athletic Club

It's that time of year when the summer holidays are over and its time to return to training for our athletes over 7.

Training will commence on 1st September each Tuesday and Thursday between 7pm and 8pm in
the field behind Doora Barefield GAA Club - please see below map for drop off / pick up details.

Looking forward to seeing all of our athletes at training next week!

What a day at the U13 All-Ireland Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Tullamore today.🏃‍♂️🇮🇪
An incredible 600m final, with the top two athletes both breaking the existing national record of 1:35.21. Loughlin ran a fantastic race to finish 3rd individually, missing the previous national record by just 0.01 seconds—an outstanding performance! 🥉👏
A big well done also to April, who competed brilliantly in the high jump today. 👏💛

All-Ireland combined U11 Long Jump Champions 2026

Our U11 Boys team Tom and Cillian are National Champions after a brilliant performance yesterday in Tullamore 🎉✨️.
Competing in the Athletics Ireland Children's National Games, Tom and Cillian won Gold Medal All-Ireland Long Jump combined champions.🎉🥇🥇
An incredible achievement for both boys and their familes🥳.

Fay and Jane competed very strong in their U9 60m and 300m. It was both girls first time competing on the national stage 🙌

Also competing was Aoibhe Burke in the U12 Long Jump and High Jump.
The boys U12 relay did very well in what was very stiff competition. The team was made up of Shane, Davin, James, Sean, Tom and Cillian.
Davin was very unlucky not to make the podium in the U12 Boys 60m in a photo finish..
Congratulations to all athletes we are very proud of you.🙌.

Congrats and well done to Kate and Aoibhe on their 1st pentathlon today. Great performances at a very competitive event - super job 👏.

Munster Championships – Templemore
A big well done to Amelie and Jessie who represented the club at the Munster Championships in Templemore this weekend.
Both Amelie and Jessie competed brilliantly in the sprints, high jump and long jump. Although the girls didn't come home with medals this time, they gave it their all, gained valuable championship experience, and showed great determination and sportsmanship throughout the day.
Well done, girls — keep working hard and enjoying the journey. Your time will come!

A fantastic day at the Munster Outdoor Championships for April 🏆
April finished 2nd in the U14 High Jump, making it two years in a row that she's brought home the silver medal. 🥈
While the result was the same, the progress certainly wasn't — she's improved by an incredible 12cm in the past year! 💪
Delighted for April and proud of how far she's come. Onwards and upwards! ❤️👏
