Based in Trim (approx 45 mins from Dublin city centre) we will take you kayaking down the river Boyne, tailored to suit any groups, navigating the river in friendly "sit on top" kayaks or White Water Rafts. You will find it truly inspiring and as NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY you will take to this, quite literally like a duck to water. All trips are fully insured and run by qualified instructors and experienced river guides!! We offer a Medieval Trim River Tour (Floating through Time), a unique opportunity to view these magnificent surroundings. If you want to go at your own pace why not rent some kayaks and paddle down the Boyne Blueway from our facility? Or book the young ones in onto one of our 3 day summer camps-a fantastic introduction to paddling and water confidence. If it all seems too hectic for you why not come down to our river side coffee dock, Boyneista, and just watch the world float by to the sound of the river Boyne? Whatever you decide to do you won’t be disappointed and check out any of the restaurants, hotels or pubs this quaint, little town has to offer and experience the reason we call this place “home”

A super morning down at the river earlier.
As ever a seriously well organised Scout Boyne Desent.
Approx 70 teenagers took to the water in 3 categories, Mens GP, Ladies GP and Open Canoes.
It was great to see the place open and looking at all the enthusiastic youngsters getting ready to race-and you forget how vibrant the colours are on the water!!!
Great to catch up with the resident canoeists after our break with plenty of banter from Matt,Marcus,Dixie and the Dunboyne contingent along with our neighbours Trim Canoe Club that had offered much needed rescue do that the race could go ahead 👏
Good vibes.
See yiz next year lads

Get the families down to support this great kayaking spectacle from our facility on Sunday morning!
We will (as we always have) let the scouts in and Sunday will be no different.
But unfortunately the facility stays closed-as we learned on Friday at a meeting in Buvinda House with Meath Co Co Director of Services AND head of planning the the executive of Meath County Council will NOT support our planning application to An Comisuin Pleanala
This is a direct turn around and another kick in the face to us as we dance the merry dance of the people in power🤷‍♂️
So please support the lads on Sunday in your droves and show MCC what the people of Trim think of these mental, greedy decisions made by themselves for themselves
Well enjoy the spectacle and have a chat and if I don’t see you Sunday-
WE’LL SEE YOU NEXT SEASON!
🛶 ☕️ 💪💪

With a total fund allocation of €22.65 million, the projects approved for County Meath include:

✅ Laytown-Bettystown Community Building
✅ Trimgate Street Pedestrianisation in Navan
✅ Ratoath Civic Centre
✅ Old Spicers Mill

🏡 Town and Village Renewal Scheme 🏡

I welcome this significant investment in Meath West, particularly the funding being provided for Navan and Trim.

The €7.2 million investment in Trimgate Street Pedestrianisation has the potential to transform Navan town centre, while funding for projects in Navan and Trim will help lay the foundations for future growth, increased tourism and stronger local economies.

This is a positive step towards creating more vibrant, attractive and sustainable towns for residents, businesses and visitors alike.

💶 Trim; Water Activity & Castle Connects €150,000
💶Navan: Old Spicers Mill €150,000
💶Navan; Railway Street Regeneration €150,000
💶Navan; Trimgate Street Pedestrianisation €7.2m

Evening folks, we are purposely staying off line in order to concentrate on sorting things out here.
On Friday we met with a group of local elected representatives, some Council officials and someone from the planning office in MCC.
As ever, the conversation was amicable-but frustrating.
We have 2 options

1) Apply to An Bord Pleanala to gain Planning Permission on this Site

2) Remove ALL structures on site and everything that is here now that was not here prior to our 2016 Planning Application.

Once removed we can apply for planning permission from MCC

As of today, neither of these options are viable for us.

As of today, we can now tell all our customers/friends/ supporters they we will NOT BE REOPEN FOR 2026 season.

We are taking this approach to concentrate on what is needed/required to get this mess sorted out and back open (hopefully) for Spring 2027

We now need to look deeper into the options we have before us and make a decision based on advise that we have not actually sought yet.

We will do all we can to stay on this site and we have NO intention of leaving this business that we have started from nothing to what it has become today.

We can’t thank all our friends and supporters for rallying around our cause-but for now we will remain closed for 2026-but vow to DEFINITELY be back to where we started for next season🤞🤞🤞

Thanks everyone

Not exactly the pictures we would normally post on May 16th.
Mid-way through the 1st Month of Summer and we have no choice but to fence off the facility to make it vandal proof.
Unfortunately while most (actually everyone in the Community) are in full support of the situation, some teens found a pretty cool spot to hang out and chill in the evenings-and while no harm was done or intended it’s not an option for us to allow access to the facility while we are not here.
So,some bueatiful Haras Fencing on show to catch the eye to welcome locals and visitors to the Recreational Area of Trim Town🤷‍♂️
Regarding updates on the situation:
There’s not a whole lot.
Cllr. Ronan Moore is leading the charge in keeping pressure on MCC and discussions have been ongoing to be fair over the past 2 weeks, though there has been no significant change in the situation.
There’s a couple of big guns landing in Bovinda House on Tuesday to discuss matters with MCC so we impatiently await that out come🤞🤞🙏🙏
In the meantime we just stay closed and wait

Reeling in the years eh!
Well the year was last year, this day last year in fact.
11th May last year was a Sunday.
What a difference a year makes………
As we remain closed I said we’d just put a sporadic clip/pic of where we were a year ago every now and then.
Trim Canoe Club were strutting their stuff and the sun was out…..
Good vibes…….
