Ultimate Conditioning

My incredible parents started another of their epic journeys today....

You may remember last year they cycled from Mizen to Mallin...

Today I dropped them to Dublin train station and from there , a train to cork, boat to roscoff and then cycling from roscoff to Bilbao .. in Spain! Doing the distance over 3 weeks....

There's a lot I can learn and have learned from them, a lot of traits I owe to them but one I hope to keep and have later in life is .....

Never let an apparent age dictate what you do.
Set yourself stupid challenges and go for it!

I hope when I am retired I am still able , and have the drive they do to take on a challenge of this size!

The key takeaway from this one was
Slow-smooth-fast!

We worked on slowing down to improve technique which will speed up your pace over all.

Going faster physically does not always equate to a faster pace on the ergs.

We spoke about damper settings and demonstrated how higher is not always better.

We covered Pacing, finding your pace and how to use it during your workouts.

Great craic and loads of learning 👊
