We were delighted to welcome back Pat Spratt, the original founder of our golf course, for a visit. 🌳⛳️

It was wonderful to have Pat back on the course and to see him take in how it has matured, evolved and developed over the years into the beautiful course we have today.🌿

From those early days to where we are now, there is a fantastic story of vision, hard work and dedication.

A big thank you to some of our fabulous volunteers who were out working on the 14th today. 💪🌳

Plenty of cutting, clearing and tidying going on — all helping to keep the course looking its best. 👏

And despite the recent very dry weather, the hydrangeas around the 14th are still looking fantastic! 🌸😍

We’re incredibly lucky to have members who give their time and energy to help keep West Waterford Golf Club looking so good.

🌸 Delia’s Lady Captain’s Prize – What a Weekend! 🏌️‍♀️🏆

What a fantastic weekend we had celebrating our Lady Captain, Delia Smith, and her Lady Captain’s Prize! ☀️💐

Two days of sunshine, great golf, plenty of nerves… and a nail-biting finish! 😍

After it all came down to the 18th, it was Mary Lou Carroll who held her nerve to take the title with an outstanding 139 nett, just edging out Geraldine Hickey and Bridget Blackwell on 140. 👏🏆

And a special mention to Reena McDonnell, who at an incredible 89 years young took the Ladies 9-Hole Prize with 20 points! What a legend! ❤️⛳️

The weekend was also a wonderful opportunity for the ladies to recognise Delia’s huge contribution to West Waterford Golf Club — not only as Lady Captain, but through her outstanding work with our Junior Club over the past four years. 💙

A brilliant weekend for a brilliant Lady Captain.
