In order to get to where you want to be.
You have to accept where you currently are and find peace with that.
You have to accept the work load that’s in front of you to get to where you want to be. For most goals whether that’s physique, performance, or business, I think a 5 year period is a realistic timeframe to make SOME of the progress that you’re looking for.
Building a physique requires years of going through cycles of bulking and cutting.
Knocking 10/20/30 minutes of your Hyrox/running time is probably going to take you a few years.
Building a business takes a minimum of 5 years to establish your position in whatever industry you’re in, once you cross that mark, usually you’re here to stay.
You get the jist, years not months.
Giving that we’ve now removed the delusion that anything worth while is going to just land on our laps with a couple of months work, you have to be able to find joy and happiness in the process of becoming.
I find setting micro targets/goals/milestones along the way to acknowledge tangible progression is important.
In physique, it can be done through going through setting strength targets in your lifts in the gym, comparing images to now and this time last year, bodyweight targets etc… small micro goals to acknowledge progress as you work towards your bigger goal.
In performance, it can be done through tracking training numbers, running performance, strength numbers, benchmark workouts, testing and event time improvements etc. Again, just acknowledging the smaller progressions as we built into that bigger picture goal.
In business, it can look like client number milestones, retention rates, churn rates, income targets, results, competency, reputation etc etc
I’m no expert, I’m no guru, nor do I claim to be but this is just reality as I see it through my own personal lived experience in the above and also helping people achieve the above.
I played football professionally for 10 years.
I’ve been strength training for 15 years.
I’ve been running a limited company for 5 years.
I’m 16 months into training for Hyrox & performance.
It’s a game of years, not months.
Find peace and happiness in the pursuit 🫡
