U15 C League

DLS B 2 - 1 Park Rangers A

Good result to kickoff the new season, A poor first half display saw us go 1-0 down on 24mins through a well taken free kick on the edge of the box leaving our keeper no chance, then we levelled on 30mins when Colm Fortune got his head on the end of a well taken corner by Tyler to bring us in 1-1 at HT.

A bit of a better response from everyone from the start of the second half saw us take a 2-1 lead on 50 mins when a lovely cross from Patrick Sinnott was met by Kai who scored on his debut for us💪👏.

A superb save from Patrick Bruncik 👏 with only minutes to go when at full stretch he tipped a goal bound shoot onto the crossbar and ensured we took all 3 points today.

Thanks to Park Rangers for another good competitive game against them today👏

A brilliant effort by DLS team today against Park Rangers.

We started strong with some good direct play in midfield and deservedly scored after 10 minutes from a corner with Dominykas finishing to the net. We kept pressing and created another chance with Rumi finishing it to make it 2-0.
We were playing some good football and our defensive backline held firm to deny Park Rangers. We had plenty of other chances that we should have finished but we found the Away keeper in inspired form.

Park Rangers scored after a couple of defensive mistakes where we failed to clear our lines.
The first half finished 2-1.

At the start of 2nd half, Park Rangers created some chances and scored within the 10 minutes of the restart. We conceded after mistakes at the back. We didn't let our heads drop, and kept searching for the equalizer. Some good play down the wing created another chance and Jesse scored to make it 3-3.

We kept the pressure and had a few more chances, but lady luck didn't shine on us as we couldn't find a winner despite our best efforts. The match finished 3-3 and everyone should be really proud of themselves. An amazing effort by the team for the 1st game! Onwards and upwards.

U11 D league
DLS B 3 - 2 Villa D

A solid start for this squad today. Great to get a win on the board.

We started a bit sluggish and a very young but skillful and determined villa team gave us a couple of scares early on. The pressure from villa eventually paid off and they took the lead with a well worked goal. That seemed to wake our lads up and a good cross from Daniel was finished well by Alesio to bring us level. We grew in to the game then but villa were a constant threat and Noah made some great saves to keep it level. Towards the end of the half some good battling by Alex won back the ball high up the pitch and he laid it off to Oscar who finished well to give us a 2-1 lead at half time.

It was a very even second half and villa never gave up and with 4 minutes to go they got a free kick from just inside our half. With a brilliant kick they floated it above Noah’s head and there was nothing he could do. 2-2 and despite all our hard work it looked like it wasn’t going to be all three points. With almost the last kick the ball was played forward, there was a bit of scramble in the box and Leticia managed to squeeze the ball across and Qasim finished it off in to the roof of the net sparking jubilant scenes all over the pitch and the coaches may have got a bit too excited. A brilliant end to a very hard, very even game.

Fair play to Villa who for a young squad played fantastically and were technically very good.

Well done to all our squad, all 11 players played a huge part in this win.

First time out today for one of DLS youngest squads and they played a thriller in a 5-5 draw friendly match with W/crystal. In typical Irish weather the lads played some great football and unbelievable tackles, so onwards and upwards,well done everyone 👏

Good start to the season this morning is very wet conditions in Billy Hearne Park.

We started the game on the front foot and our first came after 4 mins when Krystian latched on to a ball and finished excellently from 20 yards. Our second arrived just before half time when Tommy struck from just outside the box.

We added two more in the second half with the same scorers each adding their second with good finishes.

All 11 of the kids played their part this morning and some great defending at the death kept our clean sheet intact.
