We are absolutely thrilled to officially announce that Waterford's own Southland Sirens Roller Derby has finished in 1st place in the Tier 5 Women's Central Five Nations Roller Derby Tournament 2026 🏅

To achieve this in our very first year taking part in the tournament is something we are incredibly proud of. Every training session, every scrim every scenario learned along the way has led us here, and seeing all that hard work pay off means the world to us 🙌

A huge thank you to our amazing opponents Swansea City Roller Derby, who we welcomed to Waterford in April. We would also like to thank the wonderful City of Hull Roller Derby and Manchester Valkyries B Team for hosting an incredible triple header in Salford. You were fantastic hosts and we were delighted to continue the celebrations together at the after party! 🍻

None of this would have been possible without the leadership of our fantastic Head Coach, Jimm Reaper. He has truly put us through our paces this year in preparation for these games. His steady presence, thoughtful guidance and unwavering composure kept us grounded throughout the season. We are forever grateful for everything he has done to help us reach this milestone 🫶

A special mention must also go to our wonderful lineup manager, Hoolie, who was on the bench with us for every game and training session. Her quick thinking, calm nature and constant support helped keep us focused and together when it mattered most 👏

To our incredible nominated officials, Hawkeye, Fynnisher and Flame & the extended Kelly Family. Thank you for being with us every step of the way. Whether on skates or off skates, your dedication, hard work and support have been invaluable throughout this journey. 🦓🦩

To our teammates who could not be with us at every game, and to our friends and families who have supported us endlessly, cheered us on and believed in us from the beginning, thank you. Your encouragement means more than words can say 🧜‍♀️♥️ This victory belongs to all of us!
