‘Twas the night before lockdown, so what do you do, a night climb on Galty, just the thing for you’, - Great hike, started off in full moon light @ 10pm from Black Road, but the clouds came in so that at the saddle we had only 20 m visibility. -5° air temperature and a lot of wind chill on top of that. Careful navigation got us off the top and across the mountainside back to the path to the car park. Stunning night sky, full moon and mountain vista as we looked wistfully back up to Galtymore on the descent. Slàn for a while Galtees, stay safe.

Nice hike to Galtymore Sat. 27th June with 2 new young members, wet and misty at the foot so we decided to omit Galtybeg from the original plan. Up and down in a brisk 3.5 hrs, 2 degrees c. at the summit and blowing 70k p/hr gusts, so we headed straight back down without tarrying. Home for 2pm with the day still ahead of us - well done to Suzy & Amy on their 1st Galty climb 🧗🏽♂️
