U15 C Schoolboy league
Kilmacthomas FC - Ballyduff AFC
2 - 4

Sponsored by Noel Reid Electrical

Great start to the league campaign for the lads over the weekend, with a short trip to our neighbours at Currabaha Park.

Despite the heavy wind and rain, we really settled into the game in the first half. We created plenty of chances, with some excellent passing throughout.

Darragh O’Shea opened the scoring with an excellent strike from distance, assisted by some great work from Rory Larkin on the left wing.

Within 5 minutes, we had our second. Conor’s clever footwork inside the box picked out Dylan, who made no mistake and struck home.

Kilmac came out fighting in the second half and managed to pull back two goals as we struggled to settle back into the game after the break.

The lads really dug deep and finished strongly, scoring twice in the final 10 minutes through two well-taken goals from Fionn and Dylan. 💪

👏 Thanks to Kilmacthomas for a very sporting game, and we wish them well for the season ahead.

A big thanks again to the 15-strong squad available to us today. 🔴⚪️⚫️

⚽ Darragh
⚽⚽ Dylan
⚽ Fionn

Welcome to the squad!

We would also like to welcome Morgan and Fionn to the squad. Both are great additions for the season ahead, and we look forward to seeing them in Ballyduff colours.

Joint Captains

And finally, we wish Darragh and Rory all the very best in their joint captaincy for the season ahead.

No two more deserving of the role. 👏

U13 B Schoolboy league
Ballyduff AFC - Villa FC
3️⃣ - 4️⃣

Sponsored by Blue Wall Technologies

Our U13s started their league campaign with an unlucky defeat at home to Villa.

We started exceptionally well, racing into a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes.
⚽️ Alfie Mulcahy got on the scoresheet following some great work down the right-hand side by Robbie Tebay.

⚽️⚽️ Cian O'Shea then grabbed his first with a neat finish, before adding his second soon after when Darragh Mulhall burst forward to set him up.

Just on the stroke of half-time, Villa were awarded a penalty which they dispatched to leave it 3-1 at the break.

That gave Villa a new lease of life going into the second half and they piled on the pressure.
They grabbed a second soon after but were denied an immediate equaliser when Tadgh Long brilliantly saved a penalty.

The equaliser did eventually come when we failed to clear our lines, before Villa snatched a winner at the death.

A hard defeat to take, but it was a great performance from this new squad, who showed plenty of quality and will improve from this game. 💪

Ballyduff AFC - Tramore AFC
6️⃣ - 1️⃣

Sponsored by Flahavans

Our U11B team off to a winning start on a dreadful wet morning in St Nicholas Park, running out convincing 6-1 winners against Tramore AFC.

Goals from:
⚽️⚽️ Fionn Cantwell
⚽️⚽️ Cillian O'Sullivan
⚽️ Daniel Van Veen (won and converted his own penalty)

There were excellent performances right across the squad, with special mention to:

Louis Weldon, who ran the game from midfield, linking defence and attack superbly with his distribution and tackling.

🔴⚪️⚫ BIG WIN FOR THE MEN’S DIVISION 4!

Red Star FC : Ballyduff AFC
1 : 4

Sponsored by Kilmeaden Groundworks

Our Men’s Division 4 side recorded their biggest win of the season tonight, coming away from Red Star FC with an impressive 4–1 victory!

We opened the scoring after just 10 minutes when Noely showed great skill with a deft touch into Niall’s path, and our leading scorer made no mistake to put us 1–0 up.

Niall had a great chance one on one with keeper but a bad bounce lead to his finish going over the bar.

David Carlin broke through the defence with great skill and was about to pull the trigger but good defending stopped a certain goal.

Lenny, playing in an unfamiliar midfield role, went close as we continued to boss the game, with David Kelly and Mark Phelan pulling the strings in midfield. It was Mark who added the second before half-time with an assist from Niall to give us a deserved 2–0 lead at the break.

There’s no doubt that, with a full squad available, this team has the quality to be chasing honours. Tonight we had a strong bench, with Sean French, Paul Cleary, Brian Roche and John Smith all making an impact when introduced.

Niall added his second to make it 3–0 with a string through ball from Brian before Red Star pulled one back, but there was still time for Niall to complete his hat-trick from a well one corner and seal a comfortable 4–1 victory!

A solid defensive performance too, with David Murphy and David Carlin strong at the back, while Jimmy, Neil Sullivan and Chicky also put in excellent performances. Kieron was excellent in defence and pushing forwards kick starting many of our attacks !

A really strong team performance and three points on the road!

🔴⚪️⚫ Well done lads! 💪

⚽️ Success at the Neasa O’Brien Memorial Tournament – U12 Girls ⚽️

What a tournament for our Ballyduff AFC U12 girls this morning at the Neasa O’Brien Memorial Tournament hosted by Park Rangers A.F.C.

Two tough games got the campaign underway against very strong and skilful Villa and Dungarvan teams. After a short break, the girls regrouped, found their feet and produced some excellent football.

In the semi-final, we drew with a strong Park Rangers team before going on to win on penalties! 👏

In the final, we faced a different Park Rangers side in a fantastic, tight and competitive game. We took the lead through Amiee O’Leary, only for Park Rangers to level. Holly Whelan then put us back in front, but again Park Rangers responded to make it 2-2.

The game looked destined for penalties, but with just a minute remaining, an unlucky deflection from a corner put Park Rangers ahead and ultimately decided the final.

A brilliant effort from the girls, who showed huge character, guts and skill once they found their feet.
There is huge potential in this group and plenty to be excited about! ❤️🖤🤍

🏆 Neasa O’Brien Award: Congratulations to Reiltin Hayes who received the Neasa O’Brien Award, Reiltin was outstanding throughout the tournament, both in goal and outfield. A thoroughly deserved award! ⭐️

A massive thank you to all the parents for travelling and supporting the girls. Your support is hugely appreciated.

A huge well done to the Park Rangers organisers and a fantastic way to honour Neasa.

Well done girls!

🔴⚫⚪ One of our own! ⚽

Great goal from former Ballyduff AFC player Killian Harris!

Killian, who is now living in the big smoke, with scored this lovely goal in a recent league game in the Dublin League.

Killian began his football journey right here at Ballyduff AFC, starting out in our Academy and progressing through all the age groups at the club.

It’s fantastic to see one of our former players continuing to develop and making his mark at the next level.

Well done Killian — keep them coming! 🔴⚫⚪
