💔 A sad farewell to our beloved Blanaid McCann 💔

Waterford Panto Society is deeply saddened by the passing of Blanaid, she was the original costume designer of our Society and a very special part of our history.

Blanaid served as our Costume Mistress for an incredible 24 years, sharing her talent, dedication and love of panto with generations of performers. Her generosity extended far beyond those years, as she shared her wonderful costumes with us for over 40 years, helping bring so many magical characters and productions to life on our stage.

Her contribution to Waterford Panto Society is immeasurable, and her legacy will live on in the countless memories, costumes and performances she helped create.

Thank you, Blanaid, for your years of dedication, your generosity and the special place you will always hold in the heart of Waterford Panto Society. ❤️

Our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Rest in peace, Blanaid. You will never be forgotten. 🕊️❤️

You asked… and we listened! 👑✨

The response to Waterford Panto Society’s Sleeping Beauty has been incredible, with performances either sold out or very close to a sell-out.

So we’re delighted to announce ONE EXTRA PERFORMANCE!

🎟️ Tickets go on sale this Friday, October 9th at 10am from the Theatre Royal Waterford Box Office.

Tomorrow morning at 10am our Sensory performance goes on sale. This is a show we love doing every year because we know it provides a bit of Christmas magic to another group of Waterford families who can just come along and be themselves on the night of Wednesday December 2nd. A few things about this show.

* It starts at the earlier time of 7pm
* Lighting and special effects are adjusted and sound is lowered
* House lights remain on
* The interval is a little longer for your comfort.
* Families are spaced out slightly in the seating area for your comfort.

All tickets for the Sensory night are reduced to just 16 euro including booking fee.

You need to book in person at the box office so that your needs can be catered for in person - no online for this one.

We would ask respectfully that anybody who's family is not affected by sensory needs do not book for this show and allow the families who need this show to get their tickets.

We're looking forward to seeing you all for what is always one of the most memorable nights of our run on December 2nd in the beautiful Theatre Royal.

Tomorrow morning , 10am - an extra 200 tickets will be released for our Thursday December 3rd performance! All the usual channels - box office ,online Theatre Royal Waterford etc... It's a little Christmas miracle in September... and that may not be the end of it either 😏. Thank you to everybody for your huge support again this year - it's never ever taken for granted.

Take a minute to have a look at the tips below from our friends at Theatre Royal. There is plenty of tickets there for tomorrow at 10am. If we could ask one thing of everybody - please - it will be busy, but be patient. If you are talking to any of the staff in the Theatre on the phone - please be kind. They are just people doing their jobs. They are brilliant at these jobs and they will do their utmost to help everybody. Remember online is best but you can phone as well as detailed below. If you want to peruse the video we posted earlier this week it will explain to you the answers to all the questions you might have. Yes we have some groups in but NOT on the 17 shows we've advertised as public shows - so all the tickets are NOT booked in advance, but - they will start moving rapidly in the morning at 10am. Deep breath - you'll be fine :) And remember - it's not just any old Panto - this is the Waterford Panto.
