Congratulations, Maeve Madigan!

Everyone at Waterford Crystal would like to congratulate Maeve Madigan on making her debut for Waterford in the opening game of the U12 Schoolgirl Interleague against Kilkenny! 💙

The game finished in a hard-fought 0-0 draw, but it was a special occasion for Maeve as she took to the pitch representing her county.

A fantastic achievement and a proud moment for Maeve, her family and everyone at Waterford Crystal FC.

Well done, Maeve! Keep working hard, enjoy the experience and best of luck for the games ahead.

BEST OF LUCK, NATHAN POWER! 🇮🇪

Everyone at Waterford Crystal would like to congratulate former Schoolboy player Nathan Power on his selection to represent the Republic of Ireland at the inaugural U15 World Cup, which takes place in Azerbaijan next week.

Nathan came through the club from a young age and it is a fantastic honour and a deserved recognition of the continued progress Nathan is making in his football journey. His hard work, dedication and brilliant attitude towards improving his game have helped him reach this exciting milestone.

It’s brilliant to see a former Crystal player going on to represent his country on the world stage, and we are incredibly proud of Nathan’s achievement.

Well done, Nathan, and the very best of luck! Enjoy every minute of this fantastic experience and do yourself proud. 👏

Waterford Crystal is deeply saddened by the tragic events that have occurred in Waterford city over the past 24 hours.

Words cannot adequately express the sadness, heartbreak and grief felt by all those affected and by the wider Waterford community.

On behalf of everyone at Waterford Crystal , we extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the families, friends and all those connected to Philip, Kim, Callum and Jayden during this unimaginably difficult time.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this terrible tragedy. We know the strength and spirit of our community will be so important in supporting one another in the difficult days, weeks and months ahead.

🖤💛 JOHNVILLE FC – A COMMUNITY IN MOURNING 💛🖤

Everyone at Johnville FC is absolutely heartbroken and devastated by the tragic events in Waterford.

Kim and Philip were familiar and friendly faces around our club, always there supporting Callum at his matches. It is incredibly difficult to comprehend that a family we knew so well has been taken from us in such tragic circumstances.

Callum was part of the Johnville FC family for five years, starting out in our academy before progressing through our underage teams from U11 to U14. He was part of our U11 team that proudly won the league two seasons ago. All his team mates and coaches are absolutely devastated by the news, this pain of this tragedy will take a long time to heal.

Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with all the family, their relatives and friends following this unimaginable loss. We are also thinking of those who are still fighting for their lives in hospital, and we sincerely hope they can pull through.

We would appeal to anyone who may have information that could assist Gardaí with their investigation to please come forward and contact the authorities. Any information, no matter how small it may seem, could be important.

WATERFORD SCHOOLBOY LEAGUE

Under 11 League
Waterford Crystal v Tramore

A fantastic team performance from our Under 11s this weekend against Tramore and a well deserved 3 points

The lads were at it from the first whistle, showing great energy, teamwork and commitment throughout. There were some lovely passing moves and excellent link-up play, with the whole squad contributing to a very positive performance.

It was also great to see everyone getting plenty of game time, continuing to develop their skills and enjoy their football. Well done to all the players for their efforts, and thanks to Tramore for a sporting game.

Well done to all the players and coaches. Plenty of positives to take from another great team effort!

Waterford Crystal V Bohs
Well done to our Under 9s on their first-round league performance!
The lads showed great energy, teamwork and determination from the first whistle to the last.
There were some really lovely goals and excellent interplay throughout, with the players combining well, creating chances and showing real confidence on the ball. Every player got stuck in, battled for possession and worked hard for the team for the full game.
Bohemians proved to be a good opponent and made it a competitive encounter. We look forward to meeting them again later in the season.
A big well done to all the players for their effort, attitude and teamwork Keep up the great work, lads!

Under 13 League

Waterford Crystal 2-2 Pilltown.

Not the result we all had hoped for today with a 2-2 draw which felt like a defeat at the end.
Pilltown started the match well on top and their reward was met with going 1 nil up. We clearly had not woken up but to our credit we fought very hard to get into the game and started to create our own chances, Oisin Hearne went very close to making it 1-1 when he cut in onto his left leg but found his shot saved by the pilltown keeper, as more chances started to happen for us it was Finn Keogh who pulled us level just before half time. Second half seen us really take hold of this game Jake Murphy dragging a few of his shots wide of the mark, Pilltown didn’t create to much in the second half and the game was looking like it was heading for 1-1 draw but up stepped Finn Keogh to grab his brace for the day, with only 2mins remaining on the clock Piltown managed to play the ball forward where there midfield player was standing with no one marking him the defence tried to close him down but his effort from about 20yards was stuck into the top corner of our net giving Ben no chance. 2-2 it finished and it felt like a defeat in the end but we take the point and move onto the next one.
