Moynalty cycling club weekly update - this Saturday, we had over 20 members out for our weekly spin, with two groups meeting up in Hogans Farm Shop for a well deserved coffee stop. With many getting in their final long spin before the club trip to Sligo.
Joseph Mullen completed his 800km round trip as he raised funds for the incredible Enable Ireland with the help of his uncle Derek. Chapeau lads.
On Sunday, Luke, Conor, Thomás and Cathal took part in the Bobby Crilly memorial race. In the C1 race, Luke Smith and Conor Mckeown made the pivotal break of the race with Luke coming in third spot in the sprint for the line and Conor crossing in 11th. in the C3 race, father and son duo of Tomas McCabe and Cathal McCabe had another fine race together, with Cathal taking 3rd spot and Tomás coming in 5th

Well done to Cathal McCabe this evening, crowned 2026 Louth Hill Climb Champion. Leinster C3 silver and the 3rd fastest time overall on the night.
Not a bad evening on the bike.!

Moynalty cycling Club weekly update -
We couldn't start off anywhere else, but with Damian Donohue and his incredible solo adventure at the donegal555 over the weekend, consisting of 555km with almost 7000m of climbing and in the saddle for 22hrs, you have to take your hat off to the man. Well done!
Conor was our Solo participant in the PJ O'Riordan memorial stage race over 3 stages over the weekend.
Luke, James and a returning Shane Smith took on the Cavan Kayakarun Adventure Race, a multi-discipline event consisting of a 4 km run, 16 km bike ride, 1.5 km kayak, 18 km bike ride, and a final 4 km run adventure race, finishing up 1st,3rd and 7th respectively.
For Saturday's club spin, we had a large group out, for a spin to Bacus bakes in Kildalkey, who always roll out the multiple coffee's, teas and multitude of cakes without breaking a sweat, it's always a welcome stop.
For Sundays racing, Luke and Joey took on navan road club's final race of the season, the Collins Christie memorial race, with Ian, James, Luke, Mikey and Joey finishing up 9th and Luke having an unlucky mechanical while in the breakaway

Well done to Luke Smith, James Mceneaney and Shane Smith participating in the Cavan kayak run today finishing up an incredible 1st, 3rd and 7th respectively. Putting in and incredible performance from Moynalty Cycling Club...... Well done lads
Race Details
1) Run – 4 km
The race begins at Gallonray House with a 4 km run on tarmac.
2) Bike – 16 km
After completing the run, participants transition to their bikes at Gallonray House and cycle 16 km to Lough Barnagrow.
3) Kayak – 1.5 km
At Lough Barnagrow, competitors rack their bikes and take to the water in either a sit-on-top or sit-in kayak. The course circles the Two Crannogs, offering scenic views, before returning to the bike transition area on the lakeshore.
4) Bike – 18 km
After the kayaking section, participants return to their bikes and cycle 18 km back to Race HQ at Gallonray House.
5) Run – 4 km
The final stage is the same 4 km run completed at the start. After racking the bike at Gallonray House, competitors complete the final run and cross the finish line.
Total Distance
Run: 8 km (4 km + 4 km)
Bike: 34 km (16 km + 18 km)
Kayak: 1.5 km
Total race distance: 43.5 km
