A huge crowd for the biggest game in Mayo soccer, and the support for the lads was fantastic from start to finish.

Thank you to everyone who came along and got behind the team. It meant a lot to everyone at the club.

Everyone at Westport United would like to extend our deepest sympathies to our manager Jason, his dad Patrick, his brother Gary, and all the McCartney and Fallon families on the passing of Jason’s beloved mum, Della.

Our thoughts are with Jason and his family at this very sad time.

Despite losing his mum on Sunday morning, Jason was adamant that the game against Castlebar should go ahead. In the circumstances, that speaks volumes about the man and the person he is. His commitment to Westport United and his players is clear for all to see, and he has the respect of everyone associated with the club. We are incredibly lucky to have a man of Jason’s character leading us.

May Della rest in peace. ❤️🖤
