Hi folks. A reminder to sign up for the club's charity fundraising hike on the 19th September. There is also the option to join the group in Aughagower for a 13km walk to Campbells .

Massive congratulations to Fionn Ó Raghallaigh on a fantastic run at the U10 Irish Junior Open at Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club.

Fionn battled his way through to the semi-finals, where he was narrowly defeated 6–3, 7–5 by the eventual winner, Clontarf's Elliot Stafford, in a fantastic display of tennis.

An outstanding achievement and performances to be very proud of on the biggest stage in Irish junior tennis. Well done, Fionn — we are so proud of you!

Congratulations to Eoin Ó Raghallaigh on an outstanding performance at the Galway LTC Tour 200 where he claimed the U14 Boys singles title last Tuesday.

Well done also to Anna Jennings and Penny Cabot.who put in great displays in the U16 girls competition.

Congratulations to Matthew Ó Raghallaigh on his fantastic performances at the William Fry Junior Lawn Championships of Ireland at Fitzwilliam LTC last week.

Matthew had an excellent first round win before losing to no. 2 seed and finalist Ronan Doyle. In doubles, Matthew and partner Michael Dunn narrowly lost out in a tightly contested 3 set match.

Westport Tennis Club congratulates Eoghan Jennings on another impressive win in the Hooke & MacDonald East of Ireland National T1000 at Lansdowne Tennis Club. Eoghan continues to go from strength to strenght

Westport Tennis Club players left their mark in the William Fry Junior Lawn Championship of Ireland this week. In the u18 boys, our club's Junior Captain Pete Jennings continued his recent impressive form reaching the 1/4 finals with 2 excellent wins along the way. Pete, alongside his patner Michael Beglan, also reached the 1/4 finals in the u18 doubles. In the u14 girls singles Jessica Staunton was narrowly defeated in a 3 set battle which lasted just under 3 hours, A couragous effort by Jessica, who in the doubles,reached the u14 1/4 final with her playing partner Ellen Mc Nicholas.

We wish Matthew Ó Raghallaigh his brother Fionn all the best this week as they play in the u16s and u10s.

In other news Lauren Dunne from Castlebar Tennis Club and her partner Ailbhe Moloney have just won the Girls U18 Doubles at the Irish Open in Fitzwilliam! What an achievement from Lauren who also won the U16 National Singles title last year!

Good luck to Eoghan, Pete and Matthew who are representing Connacht U18 in the interpro championships in Templeogue today and tomorrow. A strong Westport representation!

Good news from the sunny South East with Westport Tennis Club's Jessica Staunton winning the 500 tour event The Kilkenny Open Doubles with her partner Ellen McNicholas. Playing in hot conditions Jessica and Ellen won the final 6-4. 6-0. Ellen who is from Nenagh Tennis Club also won the singles title. Well done to the girls and all players in the tournament and to the organisers for hosting an excellent tournament.
